Model: Legion 5i Pro 2022
Describe the issue: Random Bsods out of nowhere
What have you tried already?: Uninstalling Lenovo Vantage
When did it start producing the issue: When I first got the laptop, uninstalled vantage, came back again 1 month later
Did you install new drivers or software?: yes
Can you provide images/videos to show us the issue: can't bc it's too fast.

will upload the .dmp file

Which BIOS version are you on ?

cursive hull
#

I can check

terse estuary
#

I also have a Legion 5i Pro 2022, maybe i can help a bit

#

you probably need to tell the specification of your laptop also

cursive hull
#

Legion 5 Pro 16IAH7H

#

J2CN40WW

#

for bios

terse estuary
#

can you install Bluescreenview instead ?

#

i don't think i can read dmp files

terse estuary
cursive hull
#

Legion 5i Pro RTX 3070ti 2022

#

so i7

terse estuary
#

ooh same spec then

#

it could be that you had updated BIOS

cursive hull
#

i dont remember updating it

#

what do i do frm here

terse estuary
#

maximize and screenshot

cursive hull
terse estuary
#

hm.

#

ntoskrnl

#

@upbeat orbit could this be BIOS problem ?

#

J2CN40WW indicates that he did updated the BIOS

upbeat orbit
#

No idea

#

Maybe try to flash back?

cursive hull
#

not really familiar with that kind of stuff

#

like flashback my bios?

terse estuary
#

yeah, flash the BIOS to an older version

#

never met with such problem to me though, i was at stock BIOS

#

J2CN32WW

cursive hull
#

yea i read there was issues with the newer bios, i dont remember ever manually updating it myself

terse estuary
#

You probably let Windows Update or Lenovo Vantage did that

#

updating BIOS so carelessly like that is really risky

cursive hull
#

windows can update bios automatically ?

#

wtf

terse estuary
#

yes

#

you probably need wushowhide to hide the BIOS update later on

#

WUShowHide (Windows Update Show/Hide)

cursive hull
#

i dont even see the bios update anywhere is it supposed to pop up there?

terse estuary
#

Driver Updates, it's usually in there

cursive hull
#

nothing

#

i just got my laptop 2 months ago

terse estuary
#

did you find any Lenovo - Firmware ?

cursive hull
#

nope

terse estuary
#

Vantage then

cursive hull
#

so only way to fix is flashback ?

terse estuary
#

it's a possible fix

#

as i have never encounter this issue before

cursive hull
#

i've had vantage uninstalled for like a month now, it's kinda weird that it would just show up a month later

cyan kite
#

Irql not less or equal is often cache memory related error

#

Hmm

#

Could be bad bin cpu cringe , sadly i have no idea if you can underclock cache by atleast 100mhz with 12700h, also it might be unrelated so, just thinking loud

terse estuary
cursive hull
#

not gonna lie bro, i have no idea what that means

cyan kite
#

Its definitely memory error, but which memory thats the question

#

Could be cpu cache, igpu unslice, etc

terse estuary
#

i see

cursive hull
#

so ima need a new laptop

cyan kite
#

Nah

#

Its software issue most probably

#

I would try backflashing the bios tbh

#

To the older version

terse estuary
#

stay at stock

#

dogesmirk like me

#

J2CN32WW

cyan kite
terse estuary
#

not sure if i can share the BIOS to him, or whether Lenovo have stock BIOS file or not

cursive hull
#

Didnt mean to call

#

My bad lol

cyan kite
#

Np

terse estuary
#

it's ok

cyan kite
terse estuary
#

(i seriously didn't know what happened)

#

i'll try, if it actually works for stock BIOS

cyan kite
#

should, only engineering sample bioses arent uploaded, factory is

terse estuary
#

it worked

cyan kite
terse estuary
#

be sure to enable BIOS back flash in BIOS first before doing anything

cursive hull
#

Its safe to flash back? Like no issues that could potentially happen. Ngl i have no idea what a bios update even does. I have legion tool kit too, can I do it there?

terse estuary
#

for more detail on how to back flash BIOS, go to #questions and check pinned messages

#

I have legion tool kit too, can I do it there?
That's a no

cyan kite
#

Enable bios flash back in bios (accessed by F2 during boot) and just install the exe normally

#

It will restart, flash it and done

terse estuary
#

hope you got a stable power line, an outage will turn your laptop over

cyan kite
#

Hopefuly the big version jump doesnt brick it like it did on my y540 incredibleno incredibleno incredibleno incredibleno

cursive hull
#

Yeah theres power outages often

#

Im scared

cyan kite
terse estuary
#

proceed with caution

cyan kite
#

I would rather get bsods risitashold

#

Jk

terse estuary
#

it's ok, if it's bricked, CH341a will revive

cyan kite
#

You are expecting too much out of people

#

You need bios backup, and if the 2022 5 pro has wson8 chip, you are screwed with backing it up lmao

#

Its 32mb chip and you need special expensive wson connector to read or write to it

#

Cheap 16mb soic8 my beloved pepetormentor

terse estuary
#

damn

cursive hull
#

i wish i could understand a single thing you said man

cyan kite
#

Yeah the bios language is bad

#

Been there many times, mental exhaustion while trying to unbrick that shit with no backup and no tools

#

Had to desolder the chip physically and ask one of our members to rewrite the bios so i can flash it incredibleno

#

I am probably the only one who managed to do this shit with wson8 chip

terse estuary
#

"been there, done that" person

cyan kite
#

Man imagine if smokeless didnt exist

#

I would have legion 7 gen 7 as paperweight after 3 day use

terse estuary
#

lmao

sleek bolt
#

exactly same problem on my legion 5 ryzen 7 4800h 1660ti
I did ALL possible solutions: Downgrade bios, check all bios versions, reinstall windows, check all drivers (old and latest), turn off and on conversion mode and so on.
but no hopes.
non of them couldn't solve my problem.
finally I took my lap top to warranty yesterday.

cursive hull
#

if you ever figure it out, pls lmk 🥲 @sleek bolt

Sorry my input might not be of much help, but these first three are 100% caused by vantage as i've had the same issue and i tracked it down to vantage being the culprit(network boost specifically), removing vantage solved it. (LLT is better anyways.)

You can also try and use event viewer and track down exactly what happened when you got that BSOD, you'll find some tutorials on how to navigate your way through event viewer somewhere on the internet. Best of luck with your search and hope you can get this fixed soon.
