I set it up yesterday and have done basically no tweaking at all, so i don't know if this is good or bad, what do you think?

Oh and I also get the "graphics driver is not approved" warning

Thats ok, 3dmark doesnt like oem drivers
To fix that you need to completely remove gpu driver and install nvidia's one from nvidia site
But thunderbolt will be problematic then so if you use it, you need to keep your current driver
