#Ideas to try to fix/help Acendent

I am starting this feedback to try to come up with ideas to try to make Acendent (quick game gauntlet) better.
My ideas are:

● it currently feels too fast and if you get bad luck through to shop it is very hard to try to recover. I think at least 6 rounds instead of 4 might work better.

● I think we should add some kind of pity system or preferred team system to increase our chances to get what we are trying to get. The pity system could work like this: your chances to get a specific illuvial would go up by a small amount every time you reroll the shop and don't pick anything. The illuvials you get would be determined by what you have on your bench and on the board. I feel this would help it possibly feel more like original Acendent and decrease losses from RNG and games would be more skill based.

● make it so you can't battle the same person multiple times in a row. Make it so after you battle someone you can't battle them again for at least the next 2-3 games. I feel this is a good number so you don't get your rank destroyed multiple times instantly by the same person.

These are just some ideas I have that could make Acendent more enjoyable. I've had a few matches where I was against the same person multiple times who had much better illuvials and I didn't stand a chance and other games where my rng was very bad and I couldn't get a single S3 or some I couldn't even get to S2. I realize that the rng issue might be hard to fix but we should not be battling the same person multiple times in a row, I would rather wait for 20 min. than get destroyed multiple times by the same person. Those matches just made me want to stop playing Acendent and only get my 5 matches each week and not go back till the next week. Let me know what you all think and how we can try to make this game mode work.

With the game being so fast and no time to repivot a build, I think it would be way less chaotic if you chose your weapon before the game begins!

Losing streaks should result in fewer point deductions; the point losses are way too punishing
It's terrible that I earn 0 XP if I lose four rounds in a row

For instance, I face the same opponent five times in a row... and I win all five. How is that player supposed to feel?
betrayed, frustrated, and so on. They spent 20 minutes only to end up with -80 points. Their rank will probably drop even further as they keep matching with Fox or others, making the chance of climbing back up almost 0%

the fact that they earn 0 xp is just tragicomic

# past bolt Thanks for the feedback <@358343071319982081> I think the first point is somet...

I think adding something like 3 more rounds could be quite good, and make it more interesting.

If we are adding a few more rounds, how about being able to roll for T0 in the first round, I think its a pity you are not able to roll for any T0 at all. (not sure if it would be a problem they have 0 cost, but don't think so.. as long as the shop waight % is not too high for them )

Take Tier 0 off, make getting to Stage 3 easier... WE WANT TO SEE BIG BATTLE ACTION!!!! Who cares if the odds of winning become more of a coin flip, make it fast, make it mobile, make it like godzilla fights king kong EVERY MATCH

I know the mode is planned to be “switched off” for now, but want to leave some feedback and ideas here.

I like that games are fast, and also that they are a bit more simple than Gauntlet without Augments and Region buffs.

But I think it would improve the game mode, and also set it a bit more apart from Gauntlet. If there is a simple way to "select your team" without going back to the full team planner…

How about using the **Team planner **in the game… you build your favorite team and select it before the game starts. The Illuvilas you select then get an improved chance to appear in the shop. (you would not be able to switch team when the game starts).

Adjust the Shop Weights %, so it moves up in Tier faster.. .(I think it's fine that there is a chance to get T0 in the first round, but should decrease drastically in the next).

Might also increase the number of each Illuvials in the shop. (In this mode it's ok if you both end up building a Titanor)

Some ideas for additional options could be...

  • A round that starts preround 1... where you can "ban" an Illuvial line from opponents "Team builder deck". (a bit like in LOL, where you can ban champions).

  • A round that works like the "old bidding round" where you get 4 choices of weapons, and you bid on them against your opponent. (select from 1 to 4 in priority... if tied, you both get your priority 1).... and remove the weapon selection from the "in game", and only keep the Weapon buffs.

I stopped playing the game several months ago, but I noticed that the 1v1 mode had returned, so I logged back in to try it.The result? I really enjoyed it. It felt like a fast and efficient 1v1 mode. I thought to myself, “Finally, an interesting mode!”However, I didn’t continue playing because, overall, I still get the impression that the game feels like it’s still under construction. There’s no real gameplay loop or long-term motivation. That said, the 1v1 mode was the only real reason that motivated me to log in and play a few quick matches. And now you’ve removed the only mode that didn’t feel stressful or overwhelming.I think the sample you used for your decision was poorly targeted. The people currently playing Gauntlet are not the majority who would have preferred a simple, fast 1v1 mode.

# queen meadow I know the mode is planned to be “switched off” for now, but want to leave some ...

@past bolt why not leave it open to do a bit more experimenting and test Atlas_Love
Maybe even "hide it" with same option we had for Survival for some time, before it got removed, or rename adding (test), so new people know this is not the main Arena now.

I get the team cant put resources towards developing anything new but gathering input can still be valuable, and some minor adjustments should be fairly "light work".

For the Adjusted Shop Weights... it could be something "aggressive" like this.
Together with some of the other adjustments, that should give @zenith locust the Big battles 😄
