Ownership Bonus enhancement
Not possible to judge yet since it’s on testnet

Bot Bonus Stats
Not possible to judge yet since it’s on testnet
I do feel like this is going to be too strong, leading to the lower end collection players getting completely stomped by bots as soon as there are 1-2 stronger collections in the game making it a very bad experience for newcomers.
Excluding the best 1-2 collections might be a way to go, or take the average and weaken it by x-multiplier.

Ranger Bonus Stats

I do feel this is going to be exploited by only setting the highest level illuvial in the ownership tab. And get the rest of the collection automatically chosen by the system. (shop automatically shows the highest level illuvial)

Improve Level up UX
Not possible to judge since i don’t own Illuvials on testnet anymore

Balance Adjustments

  • Illuvial Omegas: Description Revamp looks nice so far
  • Synergies/Augments: (GAUNTLET) I feel the simplicity the team wanted to implement for non-gamer-newcomers isn't achieved. They still get synergies, augments, drone-augments, bonding, emblems, weapons, armors thrown into the face and likely are still massively overwhelmed. Simplifying augments/synergies doesn't help that much in that regard, but for sure takes away depth for the player that has spent a couple days in the game. I personally have a very hard time “playing another one” after i finished a game. (Played roughly 10 games of gauntlet so far)

Imo if you really want to make the onboarding experience better, i think we can't get arround a non skipable training fight with tooltips disappearing by click but earliest after like 20 sec. so people just read it because they have nothing better to do anyways. Additionally do the wiki on the homepage as Thanatos mentioned. It's long overdue, first time promised like 2 years ago and it's really low work effort i would assume... create it so it autoupdates from the ingame changes so you never have to touch it again except new stuff is getting implemented.

Special mentionings:

  • Thylacine line (Dash/Rake/Umbre): Even tho 100% dogde is the closest to it’s old omega, it doesn’t fulfill it’s old purpose and imo he now hasn’t something special anymore. In steam you likely going to have him only to boost pistolshrimp and in rogues you probably don’t even have it in the team anymore since there are others with more specialized omegas. I feel something arround omnivamp or so would have served him better as replacement for the vanish.

  • Polar bear gona change from a brawler to a tanky supporter with a ton of money and luck needed to actually make him a suporter (stun every 3rd attack when behemoth active) idk why that change since he was underperforming before that nerf i feel. Sad to see

I haven't played Ascendant too much, it's not my cup of tea in terms of gameplay.
In terms of gauntlet, while it for me personally continuously improved the fun level over the past year, it feels like i get thrown back to the fun level we had roughly 1-1.5 years ago. (Obviously a very subjective opinion 🙂 )

Ascendant with the new system is not really Ascendant. It's a whole new game. That said, I think it's fun and I have spent too much time in the queue trying to wait for actual players lol. The simplified synergies are kind of an easy-mode for new players to get an introduction to general synergy effects.

I do enjoy the new synergy/composite system in this mode, it seems like a good fit and I am having fun with it.

**Gauntlet **with the new system is boring. The new synergy system is beginner friendly, but it is just too simplified to be fun for anyone that's *not * a beginner.

If you have played the game for a while and actually understand the units and synergies, then this is a considerable step down. I have played 10 or 12 games and I don't enjoy it that much. After the first 4 or 5 games it became just continued testing and not because I actually wanted to play it anymore.

I probably won't play much if these synergy/composite effects become the new norm in Gauntlet. It's just too simplified for my interest in high level gameplay. To me, it feels like asking pro Poker players to play Go Fish.

every next patch become more and more casual. and it's boring play it.

  • at start of gauntlet we have 70-100+ different augments, now have 18.
  • reduced amount of legendary augments.
  • remove max treshold synergy
  • remove buffs/stats on synergy's/embellishment
  • reduce amount of units need for specific synergy.
  • reduce drop chance of composite.
  • not think balance for leviathan good for half of synergy's/composits - you have some which stack your team power/buff over time. you have some which work in %. and you have dust/mystic - on other hand.
  • remove carusel and cool regions which related to it.

it was fun play game, when it was much different strategy's, composit, augment to play with. and your gameplay depend of region/legendary/composite you got/can got. yes, not to competitive when random not on your side, but at lest interesting and fun.
with current patch most of games will be around same. and even extra composit will do around nothing.
we got some new regions to play, but not in this patch. 1-2 is cool, but other doing nothing.

Just gonna echo what I have stated in Arena Chat...

I think the testnet Gauntlet version feels too homogenized and feels boring from the games that I played. Maybe it'll feel different with full lobbies and owned illuvial... but I doubt it.

The clear winner here is ascendant. I like the quicker matches... could even extend a bit more... add some augs... but I been enjoying the matches.

Will be sad to see current version of Gauntlet go... I think it's in a good place other than the broken augs and a couple broken units.

If I could have it my way I'd keep Ascendant simple like testnet verion so people can learn the game... and keep gauntlet how it is on main net currently.

I think for newer players it would be good to have the cost of moving an illuvial made clearer. It costs 2 to move or to bench, right? If I leveled the illuvial it does not?
I also tend to move only very little because I need the money for rerolls to find the units I need. Would it make sense to swap to just 1 credit for moving?

Mostly just echoing what has already been said..

I am a bit worried that the Bot's could become too strong for new players, I am more in favor of creating some sort of "League system" where bots becomes stronger as you gain higher rank, and not adjusted to the average of the lobby you are in. (something similar to this #1453534728778158303 message)
But we have to see it with real collections and players to make a judgement on that.

I agree with most here, that I think this patch takes the simplicity for gauntlet a bit too far. I most admit I only played a few rounds of gauntlet on test, but the feeling I got was that the current version feels a lot better, and would only require some tweaks and balance adjustment for a few things.

Ascendant (or 1v1 speed gauntlet as it should be called). It's kind of fun for a quick 1v1 mode that can introduce players to gauntlet or potential a more advanced "true Ascendant mode" at some point in the future 🙂
I do feel its a bit too quick and there could be just a few more rounds. (reduce the drone damage, and gold pr. round just a bit, to add 2-3 more rounds). Also the movement cost would work better if you have one free move, and then the cost goes up pr. unit moved. each round. (its annoying to spend gold just to make a micro adjustment).

I think this new 1v1 dose have some potential, especially when there "hopefully" is a mobile version. but I personally liked the "old Ascendant" better, and this one could also be taken more in that direction, by having some agency on what units you get in the shop (increase chance to appear), and you could also make a preparation round to "ban" opponents favorite Illuvial, to give is some extra strategic elements.

I'm in the same boat that the new Acendent is not Acendent it is Quick game Gauntlet. I want to see the original Acendent come back and adjust it so it works with the current build. If players don't want to spend time building a team then they can just go play Gantlet. I also hate the RNG that comes with the shop.

For Gantlet the new system is not bad at first but after a few games it just gets boring. It if far too simple and takes away the goal of trying to get a full synergy on the field ( which i enjoyed and got real excited when I did). Also i agreed that the new boost to stats is going to be too much and completely push away new players just trying to see what Illuvium is.
