#Proposal to democratize land rewards and promote adoption

We need to talk urgently about this matter. We once said that Illuvials being cheap was a good thing, and that price drops help adoption — but why don’t we say the same about the islands? What we’re doing right now is moving away from adoption. No one in the top 100 or below will want to even try reaching the top 50, and if they postpone it because they need to save up, it’ll just get more expensive and harder every day.

And what about the million users we want to attract — when will they come with these kinds of measures? Are we boosting the profits of the top 50 players instead of one million players? You see what I mean?

Here’s my proposal: let’s do it like when we used GPUs and Ethereum for proof of work (democratizing the rewards). I remember solving the hash was partly a matter of luck, and still, all of us could get a piece with something like an RX580, hahaha.

I understand that the sale of land will inevitably end up concentrated in a few hands, and that’s fair — but it’s a real shame that outside of those 50 people, no one else can get anything from the rewards. Change the rewards to an incremental luck system based on points. It’s important that someone who owns just 1 Tier 1 land can earn 10 euros in a month, and someone in the top 1 can earn $100 instead of $200 once a month. (That’s just a rough idea.) If we keep things the way they are now, it’s most likely that instead of attracting people, we’ll drive them away — we’re completely wrong right now.

I love you all, and I’m currently in the top 50 — but I don’t like the direction things are heading right now; it feels like a zero future.

I'm going to say something I have had some hate for in the past. Paying rewards to land owners is a waste of Illuviums money. We have 14 months of runway in a market that is not kind to Alts. We should be in scrimping mode and not in handing out mode. The ONLY reason to pay people to play right now is if by doing so we are encouraging them to pay us more. Therefore, I think the only rewards should be going to Leviathan and possibly OW, although I would need to see the actual numbers of players before and after rewards, how much Illuvium made etc to say that for sure.

However, if we are going to pay out then I agree with you. We should be trying to get new people in not just rewarding the people who are already getting the most fuel.

We should also be only giving the rewards in fuel.

Nope that isn't what I am saying. It is important that landowners (I am one) are honoured for what we did. The landsale was massive for Illuvium and we were the early investors/believers. However, the pay back doesn't have to be handing out ILV and imo it shouldn't be. It should be about giving us utility so land can make money. About making land worth owning. I don't want a small ILV payout, I want Illuvium atttracting new people and building out our land so those people pay me far more than that. Let them spend on our training gyms and other things. Let land be so great that people are offering me 10x what I paid. That is what I want. We aren't at that stage yet though and I am willing to be patient and wait. You don't eat the small fish, you use it to bait large fish.

There are many great ideas adding new features to illuvium zero like training gyms, hosting tournaments in the land allowing landowners to set its own rules, place or home for breeding. or even farm land to feed illuvials and rangers. I really do hope once after the launch of MMO they will start working on improving illuvium zero because thats the other way to bring the big whales and investors back and trust this project.
