#Component drops balance needed

Hello everyone. Currently, a very impactful factor in Arena is component drops. This weekend, I had a tourney match where I was playing corner comp, and my components came in the following order:

1st PVE - Blue Blue Blue
2nd PVE - Blue Yellow
3rd PVE - Blue Blue Blue

I think this is an experience no one should have. You can't play the game without a variety of components, and some rules need to be implemented for a more balanced distribution of items.

The possible combinations between components are a cool factor and are less complex than in TFT, which has 9 different components. But in TFT, for example, there's a rule that if you drop two of the same component, the game gives you a reforger (a consumable you use on a component and change it to a different one, e.g., turning blue into red or yellow).

Another "secret" TFT rule is that if you've already dropped 3 bows and 0 swords, your next drop is more likely to be a sword. I think if it's possible to implement one of these solutions to reduce the worst-case scenarios of too many duplicate components, it will greatly improve the player experience 🙂

100% agree!

I think this is exactly the type of little things that illuvium needs to polish for the overall experience to become closer to TFT. It might seem like only a detail but it can greatly affect the players experience

Thank you for the feedback Slooper, lets see what the community thinks. Ill cc the arena team @tawdry trail @static helm @midnight apex

This is something I’ve been trying to push to the devs for months. They don’t understand the impact of not having an item pool and how important it is. Hopefully, this thread gets enough positive feedback to make them realize how important it really is.

A scenario like the one you explained happening to you is exactly what makes people quit the game. It’s just bad RNG with no real upside.
