This is the 2nd thread in the Illuvial Collection series, and here I’d like to explore the idea of connecting the collection to battle pass rewards. If you haven’t checked out the first thread yet, I’d recommend reading that first so you have the full picture about the Illuvial Collection (link)

Building off Perry’s feedback thread on the battle pass, one clear improvement for future seasons would be to add more loot box–style rewards (fuel boxes, XP boxes, Beyond disks, emote boxes, ADR runs, etc). I’m bringing this up because loot boxes would make it much easier to apply multipliers in a clean and exciting way

Battle pass rewards are already great since they aren’t a direct $ cost for the DAO, making them a perfect way to incentivize players to build up their Illuvial collections

Loot boxes make the system both fun and practical because instead of just giving a flat reward like 10/20/30/50 fuel, we could give higher tier loot boxes as players hit higher multiplier thresholds

If this eventually turns into a proposal, I’d leave the exact details of the multiplier system to Labs. But I’d love to use this thread to discuss how we as a community picture it working

My initial thought is that the multiplier should reward a wide range of players. Ideally, almost everyone could make it onto the leaderboard by picking up just one or a few Illuvials, even if the leaderboard ends up being 1000+ spots deep. The lowest tier multiplier would still be small, like 1.05 or even 1.01 but low barrier to entry is very important here imo

Of course, there will need to be thresholds, for example, 50th–100th place could earn a 1.5x multiplier, but I think the fewer “flat groups” we have, the better. More granularity (like different multipliers between 11th and 25th place) would keep people motivated to push for every position

Linking the Illuvial Collection to battle pass rewards feels like a straightforward, low-cost way to get more players invested in collecting, while also helping the ecosystem move more toward valuing ownership over pure F2P
