#Rework Composite Synergies

i think its good. i approve
Do you simply mean synergies and composite synergies (earth/granite etc)?
Why do you think this makes the game easier to balance?
The only thing i see is that we would lose the augment part of it were some stats and double x effect is attributed to the illuvial we place it on
Or for composite literally the important effect itself. For example if i have granite chip i place it on an illuvial i want the granite effect to go on, if its not a chip anymore and i just get +1 granite my other units only have a slight buff but its pretty worthless
I mean Revenant, Shock, Templar, etc
You can not have a balanced game with the Composite Synergies being able to be put on other units.
I think that it adds complexity because other items won't work the same way, it should be either all items can be moved or none for maximum simplicity
Again, it is not possible to balance the illuvials while you can add completely different synergies/composites onto them. You will always have a massive imbalance
Hence why Revenant on Penguin now is a thing and it can rarely be beat, it destroys all balances made to synergies/composites
Oh you mean not placeable at all right, then yeah it sounds like a good idea
Ah ok i see, the term legendary confused me, maybe you can edit to "composite synergies" to avoid confusion
I see what you mean and i agree it makes it quite difficult to balance
I wouldnt say its impossible though and a part of me is scared that we would lose too much by removing them
Theres skill expression in adapting and choosing the right unit to "transform" with a composite chip. Its also pretty cool imo
It would also be a bit weird that the composite ones you dont get them while you do for the others
Ill hold off voting for now and see where the discussion goes
Rework Composite Synergies
The skill ceiling will remain high and besides simplifying balance it will also simplify decision making because you have one less item to place
sorry for the thumbs down, i actually like being able to put a composite on a different illuvial, it makes games more unique and it wont be such an big issue when composite auments become rarer
I get where you are coming from and honestly you are probably right, but it does make the game less fun. I propose 2 alternatives.
-
Go back to 2 Augments per Illuvial, having a composite +2 is the true danger, composite chip barely has a tradeoff of any kind.
-
Drone Augments are how you suggest, but chips gained from crates are not, and can be placed.
I think that you lose more fun by going down to 2 item max per units than by changing composite chips into passive team buffs
The simplicity that we gain from this composite change would also increase fun in my opinion so it partly compensates for the freedom that we lose
I can see that perspective. My concern is that the 3 synergy could feel worthless. Do you then buff them? Otherwise you'll find that most other augment choices will simply outperform composite synergy choices, outside of synergies that can confidently hit a 4 with 1 chip.
.
Me too
I'm not sure to get what you mean, we don't have a choice between composite synergies and anything else since they don't appear in drone augments anymore
It's true that it's a nerf for the 4 synergy and if needed they could buff it a bit
It's an interesting take and for sure would make balancing easier. (keeping in mind that a perfect balance likely never will and probably never should be achieved)
What i'm asking myself to this is_
- Is it bad to have illuvials that go wild if everything plays out perfect in your game?
- Is it bad because there is just 1 or 2 Illuvials with that ability and how would it look if it's more? (kind of like t5s3 all can go exodia level if everything plays out in that game for that illuvial)
It's for sure something super exciting for me personally to have in and possibly build towards to if everything falls in place.
I can see this going to be pretty divided from a casual/pro pov
It would be a bigger nerf for 3 synergy, but yeah somewhat of a nerf for 4 as well. Wouldnt be opposed to buffs if this rework took effect
well with this new patch, if it is very rare to find composite synergy augments than i get if not implement, but when it was super common like before, for sure id say you gotta do it to keep balance
So it doesnt show the numbers for gaining exp in Illuvium Arena?
like written out in text?
I don't even see a bar filling animation, I have no way to know except if I check xp before and after on the illuvidex
