#Remove the ranger in 1 region

PROBLEM

Right now the skill floor is too high, the game is highly complex.

SOLUTION

Remove the ranger in 1 region.

  • It would significantly lower complexity for 1 region and add diversity to the game.
  • It's also a way to test if the upsides of having a ranger outweight the downsides. If players prefer this region it could be a hint that the ranger needs to be rethought.

I think that most players will be surprised to feel the fun and relief of having a simpler game in their hands while maintaining a high skill ceiling.

Here is a screenshot to illustrate the simplicity that we had in the end screen before the ranger was implemented.

Agree with the problem, disagree with the solution

Ranger is the standout feature for Illuvium against TFT, we should lean into it. Making it less complex sure, but removing it makes me sad

i think

  • Skill ceiling is increased with it which is good
  • Gives versatility from game to game more than without it, which is good
  • Increasing the skill floor is minimal i feel and what it read between the lines when i introduced it again to my friends a while ago
  • Gives massive enjoyment as soon as you figured out a little about bonding since you can hit composites early and more easely
  • Major difference to all other autobattlers

So in general i wouldn't take him out.
I feel i also wouldn't take him out in a region.
But testing it as a region doesn't hurt anyone except some small (?) devload.

Another idea would be to remove live positioning in one of the regions to see how it goes and just add it at the end for the 1v1 so that we don't have to scout to reposition
