Hello dear community,
I’d like to share some thoughts about the recent update. Overall, I really enjoyed it — great work to the team! However, there’s one thing that I found frustrating:
It has become very difficult to distinguish Tier 0 and Tier 2 Illuvials when Holo / Dark Holo effects are applied.
Sure, many veteran players can easily tell the difference between a Dark Holo Earth Atippo and a Dark Holo Fire Atippo — but is this really comfortable for newcomers?
I completely understand that Illuvials drenched in gasoline-like effects are exciting for collectors. But from a gameplay perspective, it creates visual noise and confusion.
✅ Some players love the music in Illuvium — others turn it off to focus.
✅ Some enjoy drone movements and chat — others mute them for better concentration.
✅ Some appreciate the screen shake effects — others disable them in the settings.
❌ Some love looking at shiny, oil-covered Illuvials — but no one has the option to turn these effects off.
To illustrate my point, I’d like to share a screenshot. Ask yourself honestly — does this look newcomer-friendly?
This is not a major problem for Tier 1, 3, 4, or 5 Illuvials since they have different models. But for Tier 0 and Tier 2, which often share the same base model, we rely heavily on color to distinguish them. Now that color is covered in holo effects.
Please consider adding an option in the settings to toggle these effects off during gameplay. It would go a long way toward improving clarity and accessibility — especially for new players.
