One key difference between the Leviathan mode and other games is that, to win a match, players not only need strong Arena skills but also need to invest time and money to get powerful Illuvials. In reality, very few people excel at both aspects, which raises the entry barrier for Leviathan and results in fewer players.
We have envisioned a mechanism that allows collectors to lend high-quality Illuvials to players for competitions, enabling players to focus on competitive play, while collectors can also participate in the tournaments. The detailed plan is described in the PDF, and we welcome everyone’s feedback and suggestions.

When we were brainstorming this sharing platform, we really thought about how it’s different from the current rental platforms.
Here’s what we came up with:

  1. No entry barrier. For players from traditional games, rental fees are still a hurdle. In contrast, our sharing platform is zero-cost upfront. You can use the Illuvials first, and only pay with your winnings if you score rewards. This means zero entry barrier for traditional gamers to step into the Illuvium ecosystem, which can massively grow the player base.

  2. You might think this model isn’t friendly for the collectors. But the truth is, rentals usually only happen when someone wants to join a tournament — nobody casually rents Illuvials for no reason. So demand is naturally low. Plus, the prize pool from just one match is often way higher than the rental cost, which benefits both the collector and the player.

  3. Rental periods can be tricky. Imagine you rent an Illuvial for a tournament, but the rental period ends right before the finals… that’s a mess.

  4. Renting is more like a normal market trade — the collector is like a businessman, and the Illuvial is just a product. Sharing, however, feels more like a collector’s achievement. It’s a way for collectors to get involved in the championship — handing over the Illuvial you’ve carefully nurtured, letting a pro player carry your hopes and dreams to dominate the stage. Collectors may not love competing, and competitive players might not enjoy grinding and raising Illuvials. These are two very different groups, and we should respect both rather than forcing them onto the same path.

We like to compare this to football. As a collector, it’s like sending your “best son” to join a top coach’s team, and when he makes it to the World Cup, your sense of participation as a “parent” is beyond words.

We believe renting and sharing can co-exist and complement each other. But if we had to pick one, we’d say sharing is the better approach.

# green shard Prices are just random at this point because theres no demand. With no one renti...

BTW, i think the main problem of illuvial renting is demand lacking , the demand lacking is not because of low player base , it is because of use case lacking. we use illuvial only for Leviathan and tournament , no matter how large the player base is , we only reward 100 players for now, maybe top 300 or 500 in the future, that is still a very small number, no one except these potential reward winner would rent illuvials. renting market would probably to be a very small market.

choose the player you want to share your illuvial to, is some kind of betting, if you bet your illuvial on the right person, he win the tournament with your boy, then you would get your share of prize, if you bet on someone who lose, then you lose nothing. so why not bet on something.
