Recently, a language selection option was added to the footer of the Illuvidex website. This is a great improvement! However, to my surprise, I didn’t see Russian listed among the available languages.

Considering the high activity of the Russian-speaking community in Illuvium, adding Russian seems like a natural and obvious step. Just take a look at the number of messages in the Russian-language Discord thread or the number of Russian-speaking players on the leaderboards — it’s clear that there are many of us here.

We love this game. Despite various sanctions and technical restrictions, Russian-speaking players continue to support the project by using VPNs, proxies, and other inconvenient workarounds. All of this speaks to our passion and dedication to Illuvium.

Adding the Russian language would not only make access easier but would also serve as a sign of respect for a loyal part of the player base.

The Illuvidex website contains a minimal amount of text.
Every day, non-English-speaking players translate much larger volumes using ChatGPT just to communicate comfortably.
That’s why I don’t think this task requires high-level linguists.
It’s something that could be done in just a few days.

<@&814435151307866142> Dear Consuls, good evening.
I can do it myself — for free — in just a few days.
For the Russian-speaking community.
But only if I receive a clear response from the developers — their approval.

Btw @winter matrix when u swap language, it has 'filipino'. Is that more commonplace use on websites than tagalog?

@hardy eagle Honestly I think we should have a language selector at the top AND bottom. Unless u have things built in that auto recognise the region of the user and changes it for them or prompts them, it should be more clear

But yeah theyre almost identical as Filipino gets its words from tagalog.
