Hello everyone,

I've just seen the announcements for the Illuvium Zero Leaderboard and I'm a bit confused. If I have understood everything correctly, you only get points by producing fuel and resources. There are no special quests and no other incentives to play the game? What exactly is the point of these rewards?

So anyone who does not own several high tier plots cannot participate in this leaderboard. If you want to give something back to the landholders, you could have done this with a second airdrop of fuel. This would benefit everyone involved and would not cost any Illuvium tokens.

In my opinion, the leaderboard rewards in this state have a negative rather than a positive effect. Small investors who only own a small amount of land are completely excluded, have no chance of making it onto the leaderboard by playing and are therefore even more frustrated than they would be if there were no rewards at all.

As the development of Zero is currently on hold, it will probably also not encourage the purchase of plots either.

You should have something for tier 1/2 holders. You guys are better in math but for example:

If the land holder reaches 1000 points or 2000 points => he will get 5 fuel
if he reaches 5k points he gets 10 fuel.

at least this way some low tier holders have some incentive to play. We/they can never win against top holders in any of this structures.

The current leaderboard heavily favors high-tier landholders (T4-T5), excluding most smaller investors.

Create a tiered leaderboard (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5)
Each land tier would have its own leaderboard. This would allow players to compete fairly within their investment range.

Use a system based on production percentage
Instead of comparing raw production numbers, we could use an indicator based on the percentage of yield or optimization relative to the land's potential. This would emphasize strategy and efficient management, not just the land size.

Encourage effort in each tier
For example, a player who optimizes a Megacity on a T1 land could top the T1 leaderboard, even if their overall production is lower than a T5 player’s.

💡 Expected Benefits
Provides a fair chance for all players, regardless of their tier.

Strengthens community engagement across all investment levels.

Rewards strategy and management rather than just the size of the land.

Encourages new players to join, as they can aim for a podium position in their tier.

This type of system would motivate more players to get involved, even with small plots, while still preserving the value and interest of high-tier land. It’s a more inclusive and sustainable vision for the future of the Illuvium Zero ecosystem.

A lot of unknows currently.

  • When exactly did the leaderboard start?
  • Are points accumulated correctly?
  • How many whales will reactivate their plots or buy their first plots etc.?

So it's a bit hard to make accurate statements.

But with the rules we have now, a quick look at the leaderboard and some basic math...
1x T1 landplot can generate roughly 32k points in 7 days (no path bonus included) just with fuel.
Current rank 50 has 23k points

It were some busy days, so i didn't have had time to look deeply into it.
But on a first glance, to me the meta play looks like tailored to t1.
So even if you have not the money to buy multiple plots, i feel even these small rewards we have will slightly increase the florprice for low tier plots (especially T1)

Some good ideas here. I'd like to also add my support to quest/goal based points instead a production based point system. We already get fuel rev dis (granted its low right now but could have big upside in the future) - but it still feels like a double dip situation and unfair to land owners of all tiers (as stated above).

This would require more than 5 minutes of consciousness with a dash of care for Labs' most profitable clients over the last 2 years. I mean a proper leaderboard could actually spur $1,000 purchases versus massive campaigns to sell digital art that they might break even on after all of the incentives. They don't have time to work on ILZ leaderboards, they are too busy chasing Web2 free-to-play vanity metrics so they can raise Round "Cish" in the most out-of-favor sentiment genre in crypto.

Just from generating fuel you do get just a few hundred points. So it seems you just place 30 converters and convert back and forth

I would love to see some raffle tickets or something similar applied to zero too. If you burn fuel you get some tickets or so. That way, even little plots have a chance to win something. Otherwise, even if you own a couple plots, you’re basically screwed and can’t win anything on leaderboard

I have 2 T1s and 1 T2 and I'm currently in top 100 because I have a bunch of 150% converters that convert fuel at a 75 to 75 rate so I don't lose any fuel on converting and every fuel converted counts to the score I have 17 converters at 150% and can collect from them every 6 and a half hours because I have a 19 percent path bonus

probably the reasoon why it is set up as it is was minimal dev load and landholders still get something
