First impressions matter—a lot. In gaming, they can be the difference between drawing players in or pushing them away. When someone launches Illuvium for the first time, they should immediately feel the game’s quality, be immersed in its world, and get excited to play.
Right now, Illuvium’s main menu feels… underwhelming. It’s basic, uninspired, and lacks the impact a game of this scale deserves.
A great example of a main menu done right is Marvel Rivals. Here’s why Illuvium could benefit from something similar:
-
Immersion – Marvel Rivals creates an evolving, immersive experience, especially during seasonal updates. A dynamic menu could make Illuvium feel more alive (check pictures).
-
Attachment to Illuvials – Seeing your favorite Illuvial in the main menu would help players form a stronger connection to the game, just like Marvel Rivals does with its heroes (check pictures).
-
Seamless Navigation – A well-designed menu lets players queue for a match while browsing the shop, checking stats, or customizing characters. Right now, Illuvium’s UI lacks this fluidity.
Illuvium has the potential to set a new standard in gaming, but it needs to start with the first thing players see. A better main menu could go a long way in making a lasting impression.
What do you think? Would you like to see Illuvium take inspiration from Marvel Rivals?
