I thought it would be cool to hear feedback and ideas from the community that has tried out the Drone Runs.

ADR runs:

  • i feel like the region selection time should be shortend up to 50%... at least 25%
  • would it be cool to have different back grounds for the different tiers and use vfx just for tpi? Maybe show vfx for tpi>90 always and not just with mouseover?
--> You would see on a first glimpse that there is a banger and get hyped af especially if it is a high tier illuvial
  • The collect cards screen should be more like an album, i feel it's super inconvenient to swipe left and right and it doesn't awaken a need in me to desperatly get x to for example fill the s3 collection because just x is missing and need to buy another pack.
  • Droprate Chances table is missing.

yeah... I gotta say I'm not really a fan of this. Too much shininess for no apparent reason. When everything is shinny then you leave no space for something that's actually rare to be noticed and exciting to click. I get that you guys want to make the pack opening feel appealing but this isn't appealing me at all. Just my 0.02.

As a comparison, the Beyond opening experience is way better because you actually know when you get a red border it's something that's rare. In ADR you just copied the border concept without really grasping what makes it good.

#

If it was me designing this I would attribute the border colours based on the TPI and the illuvial's stage instead of simply the illuvial tier. E.g. the top vermillia would have a blue border and the bottom vermillia would have an orange border. And if instead of a vermillia it was a vermilliare with a 92 TPI it would be an over the top orange border.
Not to mention that the illuvials already appear ordered by tier, so I don't see why you would slam border rarity based on tier on top of it...

not to mention the pricing, which is completely overpriced once again. It's hard for me to understand how you guys still don't get this. An ADR isn't like buying a pack of cards. When you buy a pack of cards, you own the card and you play with it in the card game, meaning you only need one copy. In our case, owning an Illuvial means nothing. There's no ownership involved, at least for now. What drives replayability is actually the stats. I don't get how this isn't obvious. These ADRs, along with Overworld costs, need to be way, way cheaper.

An idea I have is instead of the Illuvials being on cards that you flip to reveal what if shards are holding the Illuvials and you need to crack them open to reveal the Illuvial(or something similar)

Let's see how they sell and then the team can figure if they should put more time into making the experience better

So...
I figured out you don't have to sit thru the animation at all.
You can select the type of ADR, click confirm... wait 3 seconds and refresh your screen and boom you're done. Check to be sure fuel has been consumed and then go to your account and you can see the Illuvials being minted.

You can do this over and over and over... so you could crack a pack in about 5-10 seconds... reload page and keep doing it again and again.

For those that value their time

I can see why people like it. I can see why the DAO likes it. I am not a fan personally. I would rather get my Illuvials slowly by doing OW runs and Illividex. They feel more special to me that way. Runs take time and effort. I feel good when I get.one thing I really want. Illuvidex, I buy one at a time. I look at stats, compare, think and see what works with what I have, I don't just wildly click. I don't like how impersonal it feels to get 8 at a time, toss them aside hoping for something better in the next 8. That probably sounds totally nuts but there it is.

I opened 4 on test net. Now I am back in the OW where I belong. Will I ever buy one? Never say never but I have no plans to do so.

I've said it before but they were really eager to implement this. With high hopes this will even be their monetization model. But they're just taking the magic out of the game and trivizalizing what it means to capture an illuvial.

I was looking at some people's albums. They have so many more Illuvials than I do but for some, have said they have less play time than I do. I dawdle along in OW in order to enjoy that magic you are talking about. I have a large screenshot collection of pretty places, Illuvials that looked cool, my skins. I don't think am the norm though, looking at those albums. Those are just fast captures, not much different than a pack opening. I think for many maybe even most the thrill is in having not in getting so Illuvium may as well make money off of those people who want to roll for the best DHs. I just hope people like me who want the magic will get it in the form of lore or something. If not I will just continue happily wandering in OW marching to my own drum.

For ADR what i personally would like to se is :
1.) tuned down drop rates, as well as cost
2.) possibility to open 5-10 packs at once
3.) as Fillow mentioned 2 much shine; only good tpi/or smth extra rare should be shiny. light color glow for tier and some extra fire if it is rare/good TPI is the way to go in my opinion (or smth similar)

I was never a fan of getting ADR before we had a finished collection album, with some good milestone rewards for people. (you could get emotes, skins, and even a battle board for the “grand full collection”, something similar to Beyond).

It would also have been good to have more incentive to “burn” the Illuvials before releasing ADR. LIke...
make fusing just a little bit more attractive then it currently will be, so people would be more interested in leveling and using 3 illuvials to get the higher tier. Clarity of how to make the skins with a new system, and maybe burn Illivials on ILZ to make them. Have a system to burn Illuvials to gain XP, and obviously get Leviathan in a state where people can see the benefits of a good collection.

Personally I would also have preferred an ADR where you had to use shards to catch the Illivials, your drone has scanned..Making a little “mini game” instead of pure disk opening. But I do think that it looks pretty good, and also agree with some of the things already mentioned. (Shorter time before region is selected, a bit too shiny, it would be better to only highlight TPI 90+, T5S3 and Holo/DH).

I would personally prefer tuning it down to 6 Illuvials and reducing the price by 20-30%, same with the OW Runs. (If I have 100$ to spend, and it would give me x amount of Illuvial value, I would rather that it took me a few more disks and a few more OW runs to get them). But I also understand that it’s hard to balance that part.

I spent nearly 72 hours in the testnet… For me personally, gradually earning things, putting in the effort to level them up, or fusing something extremely rare makes it much more meaningful, so I don’t think I will be using ADR when we transition to PROD.

As for whether it makes sense for new players, yes, players who don’t have any Illuviall setup can quickly build one for themselves. I’d like to add does ADR serve as a major attraction for bringing in new players? I really don’t think so… my personal opinion is that the time the team spent on ADR and the combined fuel system could have been spent building something much better, still, I'm trying to instill positive thoughts in myself about the fact that this is just a preparation for MMO LITE.

ADR/OW ideas and shortcomings

  • 99 FUEL ADR → It is illogical for it to include T4-->STG3 - T5-->STG2/3
  • 1199 FUEL ADR → It is illogical for it to include T0->-STG1/2/3
  • The same applies to OW runs. The drop rates of rare Illuvials in the cheapest and mid-tier runs should be updated
  • If any player wants a T5 STG3, they should be willing to bear the necessary cost and risk
  • When encountering a holo or DH in ADR, extra animations and sound effects should be included
  • I was unable to actively see the luck bar in the testnet. For those using ADR, it should be fixed in a corner..
  • Opening 3/5/10 packages at a time may be logical for ADR
  • There have been major problems with TPI values for a long time. We have already mentioned this in the ow chat with @cobalt kiln - @rigid crag - @bold helm
  • The other thing I see missing the most is how to grind all the illuviall that we have accumulated, a clear system (both containing risks and getting rid of what we have...)

# keen dagger Can you explain this more: The other thing I see missing the most is how to grin...

As you know, with ADR, we will now own many more Illuvials, and similarly, with the increased shard rates, many players will be able to catch far more T4/STg1/2 - T5/STg1/2 Illuvials.

Given this situation, an additional system that allows us to directly modify the stats of STg1 or STg2 Illuvials without the need to farm experience while integrating with the existing fuse system wouldn't be a bad idea.

We're going to have hundreds of Illuvials that are completely useless to us, so at the very least

Example:
Atlas 3 3 2 4 5
Atlas 2 1 3 1 4 ——> Atlas 5 3 3 4 3
Atlas 5 1 1 5 3

This is what I'm talking about. A system that creates the possibility of making a better Axon rather than just leveling up something that would actually be worth the investment.

Of course, this should come with its own risks. Maybe we end up creating an even worse Atlas out of those three (ultimately, it's a faster and more efficient way to grind what we have)

#

trying to level up and make fuses for each one while accumulating so many illuviall in our bags is something that will almost destroy the mentality of the players. Before the overworld went into maintenance, I was running for 14 hours a day, but I still couldn't make enough fuses. In the current system, this will be completely impossible

Feedback: Maybe its been acknowledged already but everytime I do a drone run it forces Fullscreen on me. I don't think it should be the default. I do other things on my computer at the same time

pls look, won't this problem multiply for each player when we transition from the current state to the mainnet?

We’ll be able to obtain shards so easily that we’ll constantly catch T5 STG2 or STG1. it doesn’t really matter. Honestly, I plan to catch them all without even considering whether they have good or bad stats.

Well, great! Wouldn't it be a good idea if we could grind them down with an extra fuse system and spend fuel in the process? Maybe you think it’s completely unnecessary, but we’ll see by experiencing it. 🤝🥲
