#Change to Blueprint and Skins

*Since Suits will no longer be a key NFT collection, we need to modify how related NFT collections function. Currently, each Blueprint and Skin applies to a single Suit Line. Moving forward, for Arena we want for these to apply to the Ranger regardless of what they wear, making the system more accessible for new players. *

This means we have to come up with a way to change the way the skins are researched and created with ILZ, and also the best way to transition into this.

There was a lot of good ideas in the feedback here: https://discord.com/channels/760344898200666112/1320645180755284040

But I thought it would be better to start a new discussion that focused on ideas for a new system to create skins and how to transition to this.

One of the ideas that came out of the previous discussion is a progression system where you have to collect each of the blueprints to craft the Skin, and I think this could work well and would also have the least impact to current ILZ players.

New system would work like this.

  • Skins are fully produced with ILZ, when you have collected all the Blueprints for a suit/drone, you Mint it in the Zero Point Transducer, and add the Illuvial to the process (this will be burned) and this will produce the final Skin NFT.
  • You will need to collect 4 drone Blueprints to be able to mint a drone skin and 18 Suit Blueprints to be able to mint a suit skin.
  • You can still find Facts that increases the probability of finding the Blueprint slightly.
  • With this system it’s also easier to adjust “probability” to influence the number of Skins beings produced.
#

Like with this Jotun, you need all 18 Blueprints, and you will be able to follow your progress in a new Skins Tab (similar to Facts)

#

With this system, all existing Blueprints in ILZ will be usable in the “collection” of the new “master skin”.

Already minted Skins will be converted directly to the new skin type, that will fit all suits/drones. (yes that will give them more value, but I think the volume is fairly small, and that's a “thank you” for being first to try making skins).

Already minted Blueprints.this may be a bit more tricky, but I think Burning them and converting them to Fuel might be the best and most fair option

Good outline, pretty close to what I had in mind, would like more eyes on this

I would atleast keep the split between drone and suit blueprints though and maybe even keep the separation for the drone ones as we want them to play a big part in the future

I have forged 16 suit skins in OW (plus a couple I gave away), and 8 Hilde skins (plus 1 given away).
For finished BPs I have 19 suits skins and 10 drone skins. Some of these are doubles. This doesn't include the 5 T1s from the beginning. Oh and I have 4 currently in ZPTs.

I have been really enjoying making skins, posting them on X as I make them. My Rhamphyre suit, Monarch suit and Hilde were slated to be made and X posted today and tomorrow. My Carablu suit. for Monday as I think Carablu Hilde would be done and out of the ZPT by then. I would have already had the 4 or 5 lynx skins I have done except they can't be forged right now. I have been buying floor S1s and levelling them, fusing them to make the T5S3 suits. I now have found out that my Rhamphites that were so close to fuse will cost $60 each, which is depressing considering 3 Rhamphyres on the Illuvidex is under $50. Definitely wasted money buying the Rhamphy's for this venture. So, yeah I would definitely be upset if my Rhamphyre and Monarch skins are burnt and converted to fuel.

Illuvium needs to honour what we have already accomplished.
The ones that have already been forged in the OW should just transfer over to new skins. The ones that are BPs from the ZPT should be able to be forged into new skins.

I have been looking for Adoredo BPs for days and getting nothing. Having to do that 18 times could take months for each Illuvial. Is that how rare we want them? I guess the frequency they show up could be changed to make it challenging but a bit more doable. Getting the pieces would be better than getting nothing for long stretches. It would feel better.
However, it would require a much better organization system within game, whether it be a picture like Kirito has posted above or being able to quickly figure out how many are missing. The current BP display in IZ is a difficult to tell what we have. I would even prefer a click a drag method where we could rearrange them how we want.

# sleek grove I have forged 16 suit skins in OW (plus a couple I gave away), and 8 Hilde skins...

I had planned to fuse around 25 Illuvials this weekend, that I collected and level up for quite a long time, and they are all ready to be fused. (some to try to get good stats, some to make skins, and got 3 T5 I am missing to complete the full set.) so I can fully relate to the depressing felling when finding out fusing them will be much more expensive now, and I am "kicking myself" for not fusing them a lot sooner...

Regarding the skins and BP already minted... This will obviously be the most difficult part in changing the current system. But I think converting existing Skins to the new type, that doesn't require a specify suit type, will be the most fair solution... this means that if you have a "AeroWeave Sear skin" and a "Cybercore Sear skin", they would be converted into 2x Sear armor skin, and you would be able to use that skin for anywhere in the games regardless of armor/suit type, and you could then sell one of them.

It might be a bit more tricky with the Blueprints, as they would not necessarily exist as NFT's with this new system, and they do represent a value both in terms of the material and time it has taken to produce them on ILZ. I have also minted 16 drone blueprints myself (mostly focused on getting "Hilde drone skins", and was planning to make skins out of some of them when I had fused those that I was missing). But I don't really see any fair way to compensate for the already minted BP other than convert them into Fuel. Maybe someone can come up with something better.

I think collecting all the pieces and "forging" the skin inside ILZ could actually be quite good, especially with some UI improvements to how we organize and see the BP/Skins in ILZ. 🙂

I know they are planning on having suits not be NFTs but skins won't be either? What happened to people owning their own assets? Wasn't that what made Web3 games better?

Skins will 100% need to be NFTs 🤗

Blueprints may not have to be if the system is changed to a system where you have to collect all 18 Blueprints to make a Suit skin… but it also could be… that way you could trade them to complete the “18 pieces”. I 100% like the idea of forging one suit from all the pieces together
