Hi all,
i would like to propose a future utility for already planed function.

To give you a bit of context on idea origin:
it is from my childhood where me and all of my friends collected album called ''Animal Kingdom''. You would buy inexpensive chocolate bar and with that chocolate, you would get a sticker picture of certain animal. Those pictures you would stick in an album, and if you were successful in completing whole album, you could send it to producer of those chocolate bars and in return, you would get a gift box with assortment of their products.

I would like to see a similar idea implemented in Illuvium where repository would be a album, and illuvials would be those sticker pictures. If you choose to bond your illuvial to repository album, you would effectively burn it. If you are able to collect whole album you could redeem it for some of the Illuvium products (like plushies, metal plates, hoodies, shirts, or other merchandise - amount and kind of gift should be decided by DAO; could also be seasonal rewards). If you choose to redeem album, you can start collecting it again as many times you want. We could even make additional rewards for those that redeem 10, 50, 100 albums.

Pros:

  • great way to burn unwanted illuvials, but still get something out of it
  • balance to economy
  • would encourage trading between players (already planed function afaik)
  • nostalgia factor

Cons:

  • time for development as we know team is stretched already, and there are many great ideas already floating around
  • no chocolate bar 😭

Only joking, I really like it 😄
It may be difficult to track the value of an album due to pricing fluctuations and therefore guaranteeing that the DAO would be getting a good deal for the exchange may be tricky, but if that was something that could be done though, I would support this 100%.

That is why i was thinking of changing rewards periodically (seasonally). Those periods can be anything, from 1 week to few months, and each season can last for a different amount of days (depending on market situation, hype, etc.) And rewards can be anything that is beneficial to DAO at that specific moment. E.g. new t-shirts shipment is inbound, so old t-shirts need to be taken care of. In that case, reward could be a T-shirts (just an example, reward should be proportional in specific ratio to value of burned illuvials, this is just an example).

Easiest for DAO might be beyond disks? but in that case it inflates one product to deflate other.

  • Cosmetic disks?
  • Golden Illuvials/ illuvitars (i would definately go for it if that was the prize)?

just gave me an idea...
Golden illuvitar - season last 1 month and each month different golden illuvitar is given...so you have something to look forward to each month for 12+ years
