#Transfer F2P to paying customers

I saw it often mentioned that the step from f2p to paying customers is too big and there needs to be something in between. Ascendant arena was in my opinion a nice middle ground, but it's not the game mode which is focused by development since Labs focusses all development on Gauntlet.

Adding an ascendant mode for Gauntlet, where ownership matters is not really feasible, since you can't make it like "you can just play the illuvial if you own it" would destroy the core gameplay and if you make stats and or level matter, you are already in leviathan arena.

What if in casual/ranked gauntlet if you also own the Illuvial you get a "golden" illuvial "skin" so your the Illuvials you own would look golden on the board?
I think it could look sick if your whole board is packed with golden Illuvials, and could be incentive enough to sweep the floors for some customers and make a first step into ownership.
Can also add a button to disable for those that don't like it or just want to switch when they feel like.
Can also be expanded in future to make other materials available like chrome, obereum, pink or whatever.... maybe 1 for each set

For sure it would add additional workload which we might not have the workforce for right now, but i could imagine from an art perspective this would be pretty simple since it's just 1 material that needs to be attached to all illuvials, but who am i to judge and there is for sure other dev work to do aswell.

Something like this probably already got mentioned, but it's 2am and i didn't find really a fitting thread so i start a new one 😄

One thing I found a bit problematic while playing Leviathan Gauntlet was that sometimes it was hard to tell which Illvials was which in Holo or Darkholo at a glance. (Especially T0)

For example, "Dota Auto Chess" also has skins, which can be freely changed by each player during the same season. Because of this, sometimes it's hard to tell at a glance what the opponent's units are. (It's fine for the skin to change all at once each season, like in TFT.)

That's true if say it's a game feature, but being able to freely change skins and colors may make it harder to understand and decrease the game feature.

We might want to carefully consider whether the amount of work is worth the improvement in game feature.

I like the idea, but I think it should be exclusive to holo/dark holo illuvials. At the very least, they shouldn’t look as cool as the holo/DH

maybe make the not owned illuvials LACK some color that make them less cool looking than if you just owned it?

As cool as it would be, I am too blind for that. I have a hard time playing the "ghost" Illuvials because they are all the same colour and I find it hard to make out who they are. I need colour and shape to be able to differentiate them quickly.
