#Please Stop Penalising Mega D1sks (Beyond stretch goals)

A simple request to please stop penalising the buyers of Mega Disks.

Here is an example that clearly demonstrates the issue.

Stretch goal 1 - Requires 1000 points (not a real goal, solely for demonstration purposes).

Purchasing and opening 1 Standard D1sk equals 1 point. (Cost = $6) (Cost per point = $6)
Purchasing and opening 1 Mega D1sk equals 5 points. (Cost = $36) (Cost per point = $7.20) 20% increase in cost per point.

To reach the desired stretch goal purchasing only Standard Disks, it would cost a total of $6000
To reach the same desired stretch goal purchasing Mega D1sks, it would cost a total of $7200 (additional $1200).

Why are we being penalised in this way for purchasing a more expensive product and making the buyers feel bad for doing so.
Seems completely unfair and counterintuitive, as you would imagine that one would try to incentivise people to purchase the more expensive product, but we are completely backwards here .

I believe and hope that others will agree that these need to be 100% equal.
Change the points received on the Mega D1sk to 6 and make them fair.

Thanks for reading and please share your thoughts in the comments below. Any feedback is always appreciated Atlas_Love

If we do $6 Standard D1sk and $30 Mega D1sk this problem goes away . Just saying ๐Ÿ˜

#

This is the better solution than rewarding mega with 6 points, in my opinion

I think the idea is that standard D1sks are the worse buy financially every time. But this system rewards those buyers at least a little bit

Nothing to add. The only rationale I've heard behind the 1:5 point ratio (instead of 1:6 like price) essentially boils down to trying to control customer behavior artificially. If there were any reason to influence buying habits, the correct decision would be to incentivize the more expensive product, not to disincentivize it. Standardizing points per dollar spent is a great idea.

like to also see a volume discount on disks...like you buy 100 disks at a time you get a 10% discount

make pricing a little better

We should encourage people to buy the mega disks so give a discount on the mega disks

we probably can do this faster.
IIP-48 by @wide pond was voted for revision. The rationales said the imc was agreeing to change the multiplier however the upper threshold should be determined by labs.
if filow agree to revise the IIP for 6x multiplier and remove the threahold then we prob can pass this before the sale

#

afaik @grim mesa @safe grail the team has made improvements to the strech goals?

#

please share with us the team's plan on the multiplier, is it 5x or 6x?
and if we will have higher thresholds?

Put 1 random illuvial or ranger's weapons/gears in illuvitar disk & allow players to pay fuels for illuvitar disk. This will solve the issues we are having right now for both players who likes opening packs and players who likes catching illuvials from overworld. This will also help the economy in illuvium zero and illuvium beyond.

Agreed with this. Each wave I feel forced into thinking one type of d1sk is more worthwhile than the other, and that's weird.

All good here, either we fix price or we fix points.

What would be super duper cool is a premier ball. Buy 10 D1sks and get 1 airdropped. It's a little crazy but I think it would up revenue heaps imo

if we are using IIP-48, i think we should just say the points from mega should reflect the price ratio of mega vs standard

This is an easy no brainer. There was never any good argument to have it 5:1.

I have the feeling this was already raised in 3 different Beyond proposals and people were fine with it given 6x price multiplier, now we're 4 days away

#

I'm fine with either approach, even though I like $4.99 and $29.99, but let's not postpone because this comes in so late, people working on this are busy enough as it is

#

Dev-wise it should be trivial (personal opinion, might just be too late), but navigating the web of laws and semi-laws within this DAO over the last 4 years most efficiently and within 4 days is up to the council(s) imo

#

I don't think people were ever fine with it - but instead we just ran with initial proposal due to some idea that we won't be selling any Regular D1SKs if the rewards are fair.

And let's be honest going from a 500% increase in cost per point to 20% is relatively massive

#

Again, I'm fine with either approach, but only if the effort is actually trivial

So I would offer a 10% discount on 100 disk buys, but only made in eth. With the 5% illuvidex commission it would not be worth trying to resell them. But if you want to do a 5% discount on high multiple purchases, then you don't even have to worry about reselling of these disks. I would not have it apply to silv2 purchases.

# fresh stone I understand why you would propose this, but ultimately anyone could just conver...

yeah, the reason is the dao makes nothing on silv2, but I see your point. It's a benefit for the dao vs the benefit for the token holder (and if staker, silv2 holder). I don't think it's huge either way, but with no other disk incentives to speak of, the discount could lead to more bulk purchases. I would not break my pick on this, more important is a seemless buying and opening and illuvidex experince (which we still don't have updates on...I hope they have a least one person who this is there only job...an important part of the ecosystem).

I'm assuming read only wallet and leaderboard rewards is fixed..maybe a big assumption ๐Ÿ˜‰

When it comes to SILV2 it is a tough one, because as like you say, the DAO makes zero money on those sales.
It's just right now 1 SILV2 can barely purchase 1 Mega D1sk, but by wave 4 (providing the market keeps on it's current trajectory), we could see this multiply, which would become a much bigger problem as 1 SILV2 may have the buying power of 2, 3 or maybe more Mega D1sks.
Although counterintuitive in the short term, I would incentivise SILV2 sales to try an flush as much of it out as possible, so that it doesn't bite our ass in the future.
There is a possibility that it may not pose that great of a threat, so this is not necessary, but without access to more information, this is the only conclusion I can come to ๐Ÿ˜… .

I'm assuming read only wallet and leaderboard rewards is fixed..maybe a big assumption ๐Ÿ˜‰

From what has been dripped to us, it does look as though these are currently in the testing phase. Providing there are no issues we should be good ๐Ÿ™ .
We will find out very soon.
