I think the game should only have the TFT mode called Gauntlet, it could have a lot of players who like that type of games, but instead the game feels boring and slow, you enter the game and have to play survival to do the daily missions, in gauntlel mode if you play ranking many times there are no people to play, the game could have been a great game with only the TFT mode but instead it is a little of everything and in the end having so many minigames is negative, the game should be only Gauntlet, I am a fan of these games I have even been a proplayer, there are never enough people to match games, that is why there are so few players, if the game only had the gauntlet mode it would have 50 times more players %100, the mistake is wanting to innovate Adding the other very boring game modes, the right thing to do was to play it safe as it was a game that competes with TFT and surely illuvium would have too many players today
#I always thought it could be a much better game.

But on the other hand, I have zero interest in gauntlet.
If you talk to someone who is honest and critical and knows about video games, they will tell you that the chances of Zero being a sufficiently massive game are zero, you cannot run a game based on the opinions of people who want to make money with the game, the game has to be fun first of all
I think you misread my comment. I agree that zero is a disaster. 🙂
Perhaps a language barrier or something? I shall reword it to say, I have no interest in playing gauntlet.
Now I understand it better, maybe my comment is not aimed at anyone like you, surely there are many who think like you, not all people have good vision, in a successful study I am sure that my thinking is on the right side, this game If it were only the competition of TFT it would be a success, it is my thought based on my experience, surely many will think so but I do not want to convince anyone, it is my free opinion
There is no point in discussing anything, the answer is at a glance, how many players are there online in Iluvium? How many players do autobattle tft etc have? the response is answered with data that anyone can see
Yes, that makes sense... I have never tried TFT before and probably never will. I'm just saying that if illuvium were just gauntlet, I would have never been here in the first place. 🍻
not you but thousands of people yes
Also, in case you weren't aware, the daily missions you see have no effect currently. You don't have to play survival if you won't want to. 🙂
I know, I think my comment is not difficult to understand, my opinion is illuvium direct competition of TFT > illuvium today, and it is backed by real data: current illuvium players vs autobattle game players
I understand what you're saying. Just chiming in with my opposite perspective. 🙂
Maybe my opinion is not a debate, it is data, you don't need to say that you like a poorer and less successful game model, it is your opinion but I only leave my opinion for the team, I don't want to debate with anyone
Me neither. Have a lovely day!

@mystic remnant Aaron kind of admitted this as a mistake in his last AMA, and the team is working to "fix" that, I believe the focus is indeed to only have Gauntlet. I didn't play Arena, not my favorite style and when I want to play it I play TFT and another web3 game that I think it is in a better sport the Arena. With that I'd like to ask you, what I understood from the last two AMAs (One with Aaron and the other with Kieran) the bet is to improve Arena/Gauntlet the best the team can and make a big bang in January, the first thing that came to my mind was "I don't agree with that" but you said you we're a proplayer with the autobatler genre, so could comment on that and say what do you think about Arena/Gaunlet make a real "big bang" in January?
I agree and if the game turns completely to Gauntlet it is a guaranteed success, not so many minigames, just a game in "Gauntlet" ranked and casual arena mode, then weekly and monthly tournaments, that's it, the game has potential for Compete directly with tft and be superior in many aspects.
Agree on simplifying and concentrating. My concern is how limiting is the auto-battler genre amongst people with discretionary incomes around the world. It seems like an irrelevant market in North America.
I imagine that if riot is betting on the genre it is because there is a lot of potential, it is a genre that is constantly growing, it is still not fully exploited.
Encouraging the genre does not have a standard bearer, but the TAM combined with negative Web3 sentiment and no mobile is mounting the odds against us. Overcoming an initial launch flop should be interesting.
there is no way to fail, the combinations of autobattlle and collecting characters like pokemon is enough to add many players, do not think of web3 as a barrier, this game has the potential to attract players because it is truly a game capable of competing with top games level
Stay on the Core team. Lets get to market before the Bull market stops running!
Would you not agree that with a web3 game there are more hoops to jump through compared to web2?
no, a game is a game, the environment doesn't matter, if a game is good it will have players, illuvium can do it, when you are playing it is you and your PC or console, there is nothing else, web3 web2 you don't even notice it , it is a game, the problem with web 3 is that many want to direct the game towards generating profits and there the game loses quality, but a game that is made to entertain will do well in any environment
If a game is good it will have players I agree
I'm actually liking the grind in the overworld and making my team stronger each day for the gauntlet Léviathan mode. The overworld can be boring for sure. I'm waiting for illuvium combat and into the breach too 🙂
Just give the team Time to improve the game. They are focus on Gauntlet now and the power of marketing will start when it's ready.
It's important to remind yourself the team themselves are geared towards generating profits it's in their interests so decisions are often made with this as a goal versus just making the game fun. Ie it would be fun if it was all just free to play and everyone had tier 5 stage 3 illuvials with perfect stats but then why would anyone ever need to spend a dime. It changes their whole business model at that point...
There is something very basic and that is that if a game is fun and has many players then you have many ways to monetize without spoiling the gaming experience, the only thing you need is players, not everyone has the ability to understand this but I am sure that the team understands what I say
instead of assuming maybe just ask
He is proplayer, no ask, just tell.
I think this is fine after all.
