Ok guys I think this is a very important topic so I've gathered all the posts we have so far about seeing traits before capture:

This feature could single-handedly be what differentiates a normal OW run from the automated drone runs.

Removing the ability to see stats undermines the whole hunting aspect of the game and turns it into a simple brain-dead 'card opening experience', even with illuvial combat. Players having some agency in their choices is what makes the OW interesting.

Please don't take it away nor say it's a bug... Make it an actual feature...

Thanks for consolidating these topics @slow spindle - they have been widely discussed in many threads and channels...

Many are unhappy with the change to remove this unintentional bug that allowed us to see the traits prior to capturing

I personally didn't even know you could see the stats before capturing - and after finding out you could, it changed my entire gameplay

Now - it feels like something is missing

This bonus feature is something that makes it worthwhile for me. I only get 2 hours per week, maybe 4 if I am lucky to play. With 50 encounters per map, that makes it maybe two runs per week.
Removing the ability to have a look and decide before battle if I want to try and capture any of these would make it 100% not worth my time. I'm not the person you're necessarily targeting for $, but my friends are, and without me evangelizing to them about how much I'm enjoying this game you're not going to reach them as they are not crypto people.

It doesn't mean I won't catch less than ideal illuvials, and if there aren't enough in the run to capture you might find I stretch my time to do another run because I want that achievement, even though I get in trouble with the Mrs for not mowing the lawn/doing the dishes/picking the kid up from school.

keep it, it makes it fun. The opening a pack experience is still there, just is every illuvial encounter, not the run as a whole.

A drone chip would work.

I'd even be okay with not seeing the stats until after the battle (once combat releases). Fight illuvial, beat illuvial, have some cool animation where you visor scan the gassed out illuvial with stats surrounding it, decide if it's worth using shards or not. But 1000% removing stat transparency before capturing would make the game less exciting, I'd be less likely to spend in OW because you have no idea if you're spending time and money to get complete crap.

The "pack of cards opening" only works if shards were free and you had enough resources to capture every illuvial spawned in that run. Short of that, we need to be able to see stats and make a judgement call. We already get the rarity RNG from whatever stats are generated in that run. Make us play and find the good ones, but keep the feature or you kind of break the hunting loop.

You could have the total value of the stats show up, but not where they are.........so you know it has a total of 240, but that could be 50 in MS............so there's your dice roll

if one were to keep the current OW system, the super simple solution to some of the things being discussed that the majority of people do not want to spend that much time in a run, could simply be to allow people seeing the stats when you do a scan. It cost 3x more, and you can select the 4-5 encounters u want, and thats it, and have the remaining energy be given in the form of option: ores, consumables+essences, shards. This would be insanely more valuable, and triple the revenue. Because even though people do a scan, they still have to go through all encounters to check stats- so you might save a couple of minutes, but not much more than that. If you include stats in the initial scan, then: you could basically do a run in 10 minutes, whales would be happy but pay 3 times as much, grinders would be happy to spend the current price. Win-win. If i had the option to see the stats in a scan, i would scan every run. Since not, i would not scan, because it doesnt feel worth it, because i still have to check all encounters. I dont care about the Tiers that much, what i care for and would wish was possible was to scan for stats
