#Beyond Holiday Themed Illuvitars

There has been a lot of discussion regarding skins (i.e. santa hat Atlas) in the OW, which has some strong support against it (I'd say the community is split, idk what the % is). The reasoning seems to be primarily focused around breaking the visual theme of the Illuvium universe and potentially conflicting with the lore.

What about for Beyond? It's meant to be a fun silly lighthearted game that exists outside of the more serious ILV games right? Halloween variant illuvitars, Christmas themed, etc? I could see those posing good natural marketing during the holidays and desirable visuals. Some people just love spooky or snowy vibes even out of the season, so it might help sales year-round.

If people are in favour of this... Would you release a wave in say early December and include Christmas Illuvitars in the 3 month set? Or release a standalone holiday D1sk that only includes winter/snowy/clausy themed illuvitars?

Beyond already has promotional partnerships. I would just keep the seasonal themes to the emotes as it currently stands. Seems fine IMO.

Any reasoning for not expanding it to illuvitars? Mine would be that some people will put a premium on owning different types of PFP's. Some think the Gamestop branding is really cool, others don't care or don't like it. Some like an illuvitar that looks extra silly. I figure some would really enjoy holiday themed illuvitars. If a wave has like 20 different illuvitars (idk the #), you could make maybe 3 of them holiday themed.

Would have to be a "stand alone" set like Team Liquid where they are pre-bonded

  • not sure it would best to have as a stand alone "wave" - but i could see it as rewards for waves

Example: Wave 3 reward buy "x" disks earn "Winter Atlas" - then Wave 4 reward bu "x" d1sks earn "Spring Atlas" and so one. It's a "sub-set" in the album that could encourage participation across waves

Would love new seasonal accessories, but it would be tough to add anything since it would require so much work 😞

We'd love to, but as Ricky already said they'd have to come prebonded or the workload would be insane.
If people were dead-set on actual seasonal accessory sets, then we'd basically have to hire someone who did only that full-time. We couldn't handle it with the current team

Yep - like Dan said - it would be needed pre-bonded due to time constraints.

I also think with the new stretch goals coming with Wave 3 , and wave-winner rewards, you will see we will start adding a few more illuvitars into the mix.. different versions of certain illuvitars. But, they will be somewhat rare - and always have less powerpoints than a D1SK one that is 'clean'.

But let's see how we pick up wave 3 and the Wave 3 promo's and go from there πŸ™‚ Definitely not against doing random-releases or themed sets.

Yes please! just don't make them too expensive! I want a full set and i couldn't do that for gamestop or TL (Or T5's) :/

yes we also have new collections every 4 months, I just don't see the album fitting with seasonal events. But maybe it's just me.

yeah I was about to ask if you guys don't have better things to do... I think doing these things as a special seasonal event is fine but don't create a new album for them.

Just had an idea.
Using Halloween as an example holiday.

If we had a wave currently running, what if for the week leading up to halloween, the Wave D!sks would be switched out for a halloween D!sks for a limited time (Halloween Skinned). You would get the largely same contents as regular disks but an additional holiday themed illuvitar would be included, a random chance which one, higher probability of rarity from mega)
Once the holiday is over, you switch back to the regular D!sks.

Edit: Potential downside. Due to the limited nature of the D!sk and that it contans more value than the regular D!sks, people may hold out on purchasing regular D!sks in anticipation of the holiday D!sks. Hmmm.

It would be fun to give away holiday Illivitars for completing random OW quests. Capture or fuse an Adoredo to pull Santa's sled and he rewards you with a Christmas Adoredo Illuvitar or something. There could be different difficulties so that even the newest player could get one but if you want the whole set you have to work to get it.
