What are peoples thoughts on Survival Mode being equal focus for Leviathon mode?

Some reasons I think it could be better than 8 man or 1v1 modes:

  • PvE game modes are better in a pay to win game
  • All levels of pay to win will enjoy it
  • Much more likely to go to the shop to get a new illuvial to help beat your best wave for the week
  • Personally I won't bother with 8 man leviathon because its just way to high a requirement for me and will not be fun for me at all
  • However, the idea of going to survival mode with my illuvials sounds super fun, and I'd have no issue finishing say top 50/100 because my illuvials arent as strong, and honestly I'd imagine id get baited into spending and leveling more

Idea would be something like:

  • same waves for everyone for the day or week
  • end of week rewards based off position on ladder
  • increase the wave max appropriately (to the point most wont achieve unless almost max deck)
  • can't really copy others positioning since everyone stats and decks are different

Maybe best to have both running and split 50/50 see which is more popular? I assume all low spenders / those not keen on leviathon would be for this. But I'm interested to see what the big spenders think. Apologies if this has been suggested which im sure it has!

Leviathan Survival and Leviathan Gauntlet complement each other perfectly, creating a unique gaming experience. Both modes are essential for fully enjoying the game.

I am against the removal of Leviathan Gauntlet.❌

I think this makes more sense for a p2w leaderboard. If you can make it a roguelite style, I think that can be a decent starting point. Plus, if you make it so you can only do a certain number of runs a day for free, you can add a fuel sink here for more additional chances.

You also don't have to remove any other Leviathan mode. You just need one endless survival mode where you can only use Illuvials you own

Adding leviathan survival - Yes and it's being developed at the moment

Removing leviathan gauntlet - No because a significant proportion of players want to play PVP and show off their illuvials

Leviathan survival sounds great and like Sota said this was already announced by the team but i never heard of it in the talks about S3 so either it wont be ready on time or they cancelled the plan

Im against removing gauntlet leviathan though

"I really worry 8 man wont have enough players" - most of Leviathan games i play was against ppl with illuvials lvl30, or 120% stats. they just go and play it. yes - you beat them if you prepare better, buy stats/grind exp. but you can play levi with any deck and if you see someone beat you - you start think how you can become stronger and play better against him - it's motivate me go in OW and get more exp for my team/go on market and buy/sell better stats.
if you play against PVE, you don't feel how you strong compare to each other. For example - you beat wave 40 and get top-7, but you can't check ppls deck who beat 45-50-60, how you can improve? is it your skill was case you can't beat 41, or your deck stats/lvl

it already almost is, we just need to add some random augments to make every run unique.

Hades and Slay the Spire are prolly my favorite rogue-like games. Also looking forward for windblown.

I have 0 interest in survival mode as it stands.

I would love to see the enemy composition be the same for everyone, but have it last either a week or month. You then use any combination of your own illuvials to get as far as possible and have a leaderboard for it with some nice rewards.

You could then actively work on levelling up your team or finding better illuvials so you could get a little bit further and increase your rank

yea max a week or find a way to have new waves daily that works with rewards and leaderboard

I think daily or weekly works best to keep players engaged. You also wouldn't need to just count the highest score, but make it a cumulative score adding the score of every run. That way it promotes daily play instead of stopping once you max out

Don’t get me wrong, I used to play Soul Knight and Neon Abyss quite a bit, but that’s a much different style
