Currently we have 18 different suit lines, each of those has a unique skin base on the Illuvial lines/tier. I think this makes 130 different skins (33 "T1-3-4-5" * 3 "stages" + 31 unique lynxes) . which gives a combination of 2340 skins.
I see how this can be seen a nice way to provide a very unique skin. However I think this is complicating it for the players as when you go to the marketplace to buy a skin, you will also have to choose one of the 18 specific suit line and you are not able to use this skin on any other suit.... I think "most gamers" coming from other games will be surprised of this, and will be seen as a bad experience.
It will most likely end up with about 50 skins that are in demand. (might even be a bit too high). leaving a lot of "useless blueprints", and landowners will be unhappy they spend time researching blueprints that are not selling. I understand that the demand for those specific skins will increase the price of the few skins, but I would rather have a lower price and higher volume, distributed to more people.
I am sure the team has already considered these things, and it must also be a bit of a "Headache" when we are going to give out promotional skins... as what suit line will that skin fit? (I am sure we are not going to send out 18 versions of those skins... or do we already have a unique skin line that will go on all suit lines).
One challenges is that we are already well into production of Blueprints and some landowners might already have the same skin for multiple suit lines, which somehow needs to be compensated if we where to change the system, but I am sure we could come up a a solution(I doubt it will be that many), and it would be way better to change it now then try to adjust it later.
I know this topic has been brought up before, but would like to get a bit more feedback and idea's for this topic... is it really a good idea to have unique skins for 18 different Suit lines?
