Create Holo and Dark Holo versions of the skins

It was previously mentioned that crafting ranger/drone skins would require burning a matching illuvial. This not only serves as a strong deflationary mechanic, but by adding two extra variations of the skin based on the burned illuvial's finish, we could further increase the utility of holos and dark holos beyond just their rarity and aesthetics.

What do you guys say?
Would you like to have holo and dark holo skins or would it be too much and break the immersion?

that is already an actual nft that is supposed to be implemented as a drone skin, this was attained by being an early investor when ILV token was created

I love myself some dark holos but i'm not so sure if it's a good fit for skins.
Currently it appears as though dark holo is some kind of genetic feature of the illuvials themselves. I'm not sure how it could make sense (lore wise) for this feature to cross over into cosmetics, but maybe it could, I don't know, it just seems like it could be a bit of a stretch.

Sorry, but i'm also not too keen on this. I feel that it promotes the pay to win aspect.
I think rarity is enough for driving collectibility/value.
Creating additional utility on top of the inherent rarity, I believe will only alienate the majority of people that do not have the ability to spend much in game and therefore will not be able to collect most rare holo/dark holos, but will also be at a disadvantage for not being able to do so.

All I will say is that this will add a significant amount kf work for the devs and art team...
I recall seeing this in the past and someone from the Team commenting against it back then also

Now here is what I will say in contrary to @bold vault , what if we had the following:

• ONE - HOLO ARMOR
• ONE DARK HOLO ARMOR

This would be one skin available for a specific armor set (most likely a tier 5) . Therefore, you wouldn't have to worry about being able to tell the differences between other skins, since there is only ONE of each type available.

Now would this be a BLUEPRINT vs. SKIN is the tough question.....

My opinion = Since SKIN and not a blueprint (to make unlimited skins...), there would be no burning mechanic for crafting ("x" holo or dark holo required tocmake one)
This is based on only landholders being able to craft "Illuvial Skins" per past documentation

This could be at the discretion of labs on how/when it is awarded to players and would be a "flex" NFT that many would want to obtain

Lore is a mystery and only the Team can comment or make it make sense lol

(The Covenant from Halo were able to create invisibility/cloaking, and I believe the species/race in Illuvium's Universe can create a cool aesthetic like this.... you saying we won't have any MAD/Deranged scientists running tests on Illuvials? Disecting the "alien" lifeforms to learn how they work and how they can be utilized for war/profit/change? 😉 just saying )

Sure they could, but how would the dark holo effect benefit armour, equipment etc when it doesn't offer any biological advantage to the illuvials themselves in the game as it is purely cosmetic.

Again i'm not saying anything, it's merely an apinion. I don't believe it makes sense for what we do know right now, could this change, sure, but I can only base my opinion on what limited knowledge I currently have.
I still stand by it though. It still doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. Feel free to disagree.

Cosmetic = yes... maybe some people just want to look cooler than others? 😏 We don't know their motivation to develop it lol

Lore = we just need to be told already! It will be an entirely different experience when we know more!

Since they has reach 18 upvotes quickly, council will be discussing during our next meeting (Monday) to see what next steps might look like and add to our internal tracker to get more information from Labs

I'll just add this, this hole idea hinges on the supposition that we will need to burn an illuvial to craft a skin. Which we don't even know for sure.

Maybe since the rarity difference is so big between holo and dark holo this could be applied only to holos.
