I know there is already the idea for illuviul variants but I just wanted to start making a list or discussion on what variants you want to see and get it in front of the developers. Just start adding your ideas into the comments. I will also be adding some. Let's see what everyone can come up with.
Also if you have any new ideas on new illuviuls that you want to see post those in the comments as well

well I'm just gonna say this. I don't like illuvial variants at all. The only thing that supposedly holds this narrative for set 2 is that the ILV studio is "small" and can't handle making an entire new set every time.
IMO a Geyyser should be a Geyyser and a Rhamphyre should be Rhamphyre, having variants and starting to differentiate illuvials by their class/affinity is a real turn off for me.

I agree. If we're concerned about the studio being too small, I think just slow rolling new Illuvials is a better option, maybe as limited editions cycled every month or so

the thing is we need an ongoing set always to be capturable in the OW.
I'm glad this discussion has been brought up cause it's something we still don't know much.
We've seen the bonding curve take effect and illuvials getting harder to capture but we don't know when set 1 will be out of print. Will it slowly dwindle or will they cut it out abruptly.
I'm not sure on this, but I think they've planned a duration for sets of 1 year. I think it's too short and I would much rather have a mini set when the capture rates start to get low and only release a new set every 2 years or so. Just my opinion.

I'm not saying I prefer variants over new illuviuls I would definitely prefer new illuviuls. I just know that they have talked about variants to help increase the output of new things to catch, because it takes a lot to make a completely new illuviul. I mostly want more variety to catch whether it is a completely new illuviul or a variant. Also it is interesting to see what ideas people can come up with an illuviul being a different class or affinity.

Kieran has said in the past that they would like to release at least 2 new sets a year made up of at least 6 new illuviul lines and 2 variants. I don't know if that is still the idea or has changed. It probably has changed since it was probably over a year ago that he said that.
