Good evening, @coarse scarab ,

I hope you're doing well. I’d like to share an idea that I believe could be an interesting addition to the gameplay and benefit both the players and the game’s economy.

The idea involves absorbing duplicate Illuvials.

Imagine this scenario: I have a Scoriox, 4 tier, 3 stage, level 60 with excellent stats. I also have two other Scoriox of the same type, but at level 1 and with weaker stats. What if players could sacrifice the weaker copies (for example, two weaker level 1 Scoriox) to strengthen the main one? As a result, the main Scoriox would drop back to level 1 but would gain a star — a new indicator of power.

How it works:

  • After merging, the Scoriox returns to level 1 but gains 1 star.
  • Its power would be significantly higher compared to a regular level 1 Scoriox.
  • The player would need to level it up to 60 again, but the final result would be a much stronger Illuvial.

Benefits of this system:

  • Inventory cleanup – players can get rid of low-level duplicates and weak-statted Illuvials that eventually become useless.
  • Creating additional value – even weak Illuvials that currently hold little value can become useful for players as they can be utilized in the strengthening system.

This mechanic has already proven successful in mobile games, helping balance player inventories and giving new meaning to older characters. Of course, this is just a concept that would require further discussion and refinement, but I believe it could positively impact the game and its economy.

I’d be happy if this idea could be useful for future development.

Sincerely,
Winnie Monarch

#Misc - Any update on adding an in-game illuvidex? Right now it's really hard for me to track what Illuvials I own in preparation for for gauntlet, and I would love a way in-game to view this. It would be cool to tie a badge or tracker into this, for say catching all tier 1 illuvials or something like that

With the recent buzz around "Off The Grid" early access, we're bearing witness to a crypto game putting themselves "On The Grid" by attempting to grab market share in a saturated competitive eSports genre. From observing mainstream reaction, it seems as though they could be well on their way to acquiring and holding onto a decent piece of that pie, something you stated would be too hard to achieve as a crypto game in the current market environment.

Has their recent debut challenged or changed your opinions on this? How will that affect the course of development for Illuvium?

What are your thoughts on having
a quick PVP battle mode that has 1 round and is rules based. Rules would be relatively simple, and could include: MP cap, Affinities, Classes, Number of Illuvials, etc
............
Splinterlands is a failing game but it's a fun example of rules based play. Each PVP battle is fun and addictive because you get to choose whichever monsters you want to use (within the rules for that battle).

Every new battle has different rules and they are randomized so each new battle feels exciting.

You are allowed to see the last 5 teams that the new player you are facing used from previous battles. That way, you can sometimes predict what that player may use and can create a team that may beat his/hers if you guess correctly.
.............
EXAMPLE of an illuvial Battle with this style of play:

  1. Rules of Battle: Bulwarks and Empaths (Can only use these)

  2. MP: 325 (cannot exceed 325)

  3. Affinities: Nature, Fire, and Water (can only use these)

  4. No Stage 3 illuvials (only stage 1 + 2 may be used)
    ...........
Most important: You have to OWN your illuvials to battle. So, if the other person has a Sear and you only have a Singe, you're out of luck if the rules are: Fire and Bulwarks

To what extent is any subcouncil aware of the game development strategy regarding multiplayer and any other imminent addition to the game? Is there any agreement, voting or discussion between the team and the DAO about how to focus next upgrades? From a community member perspective, since no hint is shared on what the team is being working on, it feels that there is no connection between community suggestions and team development. For example, the multiplayer mode being built now, did the team have any feedback or support from DAO to ensure it goes in the expected direction? In case not, on what basis are decisions made?

#Development: I’ve brought this up at the last town hall, and here I go again: Where is the lore?

I also have a #Feedback question about the lore. Aren't you guys trying to create too much hype with a one-time lore release? The team might think the story is great, but what if it’s not? How can we be sure if only a small group reads it?

Wouldn’t it be better to release the lore in smaller chunks—like a chapter per week, two weeks, or even a month—to get feedback along the way?

If someone like Christian Linke, Alex Yee (Arcane, League of Legends), Neil Druckmann (The Last of Us), or Roland Emmerich (Stargate, Space Nation Online) has read it and given it their seal of approval, then I’ll just shut up and wait. But until then, let’s not assume the story is great based on the opinions of just a few people.

I want to understand the team's vision, how they are going to attract players who are able to pay big money for a team with good stats, level them up and then fight in Leviathan.
Or does the team want to bet on f2p players who will not bring anything to the game and will only be ready to take and demand, we have not invested anything, we need more rewards?

example:
My vision. I invested $25k and am hastily leveling up Pokemon for decent prizes in Leviathan mode and slowly learning to play. I am waiting for a leaderboard + tournament and I will realize my potential. I am not playing now, because I am preparing for this.
No one will play this if they do not see the benefit in it. All OW players have been selling and will continue to sell Pokemon, because for now, they can earn more than just collecting a deck and leveling up their experience. All investors are waiting for battles with their decks, bought for big money and dozens of unsuccessful fuses.
If in the first season, 50 people get a decent reward, then the next season there will be 500 people who want to get it, the next season 5000, the next 50k

What I see from the team now:
We have done nothing for Levi, we have not made a leaderboard and do not give decent prizes, because no one plays this mode. People have few decks, people do not level up Pokemon. And with such an attitude towards the Leviathan mode, which must feed everyone, no one will start leveling up Pokemon and collecting them. Why do they need it?

Why do we see useful and catch-worthy illuvials in OW always in bulks? There are many runs (15-20 sometimes) in a row when the most we can find in a stage 3 run are holo kukka/rota with a stage 3 lynx. Then the game throws everything in 1-2 runs (T4S3, T5S2-3, higher tier holos and dark holos). I experienced multiple times that I find 2-3 dark holos in 2-3 days then there is nothing for 2 weeks straight (70-80 stage 3 runs).

Is there an algorithm in the background that enables useful (more worthy) illuvials to appear after we spend certain amount of fuel on empty runs? Because it certainly feels like that there is something going on in the background behind these tendencies. These are too consistent to be only due to dumb luck

Illuvium Zero - UI Features I'd Love to See:

  • Building Interaction- When you click on a building:

    • You could cancel the process directly from there? No extra menus, just one click and done.
    • For converters, it would be great if it showed the range of what you might get depending on your efficiency.(passive is the main concern here)
    • For research labs, a little tag/image showing what you’re researching now would help you decide if you want auto-research on or not.
  • Activity Menu (If Needed):

    • The level of the building.
    • How much of X material is currently being produced.
    • Maybe a bit of fun—on the science tab, we could see a mini-illuvial doing some experiments or research, just to add a bit of razzle dazzle
  • Material and Fuel Savings:

    • It would be great to get a preview of how much material or fuel you save if you have auto-produce, scan, or research features on.

MY time > money. That said the illuvidex is not made for buying and selling but to me seem like more razzle dazzle then useful. IT looks amazing but I look at this like the stock market lol Should be simple, less loading and easy to compare and search for our own mons/other mons based on power, multiplier, etc. quickly

key aspect i love:

  • loading time only happen when we hit apply and does not load off each click
  • a power level is ther 0-30 that give us a indication of how good that illuvial is compared to other
  • not having to click into each card to see the illuvials stats
  • we can see listed and unlisted very easyly
  • direct links to tokentrove/illuvidex to buy the mon or go to it directly in your own wallet to find it. so hard find mons i have caught

so I think illuvium should either partner with or just straight up Buy out @ocean robin website. Image below:

Hello, Kieran. I would like to address a question that concerns many players and community members. The topic of simplifying the Leviathan mode, including weakening the stats of illuvials, is being actively discussed in Discord. This is initiated by players who have not had enough time to invest in the project and feel that facing whales has become too difficult.

However, the original structure of Illuvium was well thought out and catered to the interests of different players. It included:

  • A casual mode without rewards for those who cannot invest time or money.
  • A ranked mode for experienced players who are not ready to spend money.
  • The Leviathan mode for players willing to invest in developing their teams for the highest returns.
This model maintained balance and rewarded effort, time, and money. Proposals to simplify the mode undermine the core principles of Illuvium and devalue the investments of dedicated players. Trust in the project is an invaluable resource.

It is suggested that whales will remain strong but not at the level they aimed for. Players have invested in the current model and its strength.

In conversations with players from different countries, I have noticed that many have experienced the devaluation of their efforts:

  • During one Airdrop season, players' efforts were nullified by the introduction of Dark holo.
  • In the next season, their hard work was devalued by the introduction of the scanner.
  • Now, many are creating strong decks, but there is discussion about weakening the illuvials.

The market for illuvials is practically dead, and the land market is on the brink. I advocate for preserving the trust of dedicated players and investors. Weakening the illuvials in Leviathan mode will only increase disappointment. I vote against these changes and propose to keep the mode as it is.

Kieran, I would be interested to hear your thoughts on this matter. I hope for a detailed response and thank you for your attention.

Questions 1:
Could you provide information based on which you decided that changes in levels and stats and iluvials have a bad effect on the market and we will have very few players to play? For me as an investor and a player in many games that I participated in, statistics are taken after certain seasons/tournaments, it is available to everyone. And based on this, an analysis is carried out, for example
Strong team weak team weak players
Strong team weak team strong players
Strong team weak team weak and strong player
Weak team weak team strong players and so on

We have nowhere to get such statistics and it is not yet clear to me why we should reduce the influence of levels and stats if we have not collected enough statistics

If after the season, the team understands that some setup is very strong, it is lowered a little. And then even a strong team will be +- playable and this happens every season.

Question 2. If you still decide to make changes, how should these changes force those who have not leveled up to this level and did not look for good or medium stats, to start doing it on your meaning?

Question 3. How will such a decision affect the economy, from your understanding? Pos or Neg. If Pos Why?

Question 4. What % of new players do you expect to see after the stats and level reduction so that they can absorb the losses that I described below.

If your strategy leads to the outcome, as it was at the beginning of the game launch - the team had few statistics, but they relied on their calculations, led to a rapid drop in fuel prices and we know what happened next. We see now that the community, investors, pro players are against the changes, but the team is promoting this narrative. If your goal does not lead to the fact that the answer to question 4 will not match your forecasts, but we will lose some of the investments of current investors.

marsh forum
#

#Development
Question 5. How are you going to find new investors, since old investors will either sell everything or simply will not trust the Company? What is your plan B for a refund, just return the stats as if nothing happened and say that stats are the basis of everything, as was written in the dev blog as high priority levels and stats will not work anymore.

PS: My opinion is that the basis of the market is stats, then good stats immediately fall in price by a couple of times, average stats also fall, leveling up in OW also decreases, since the difference between 50 and 60 is large, fuses stop. All stats that are below average are not bought at all, the cost of resources falls. Players in the open world stop paying off their runs and simply stop running, since it is difficult to catch average and high stats, and no one buys below average.
Unfortunately, the team already had a sad experience after the launch of the game, when new players were calculated using a a1rdr0p distribution. This did not lead to anything good, which led to losses for landowners, cuts in production, and much more.

#

#Development
Question 6: What distribution of rewards will we see in the leaderboard between top 10, top 50, top 100, top 100, top 10000, top 20000?
Question 7: We will have a ranked mode where nothing is required to enter, how will you track bots and multi-acking? Manually, which will make players wait weeks until the next season starts?
Question 8: How are you going to deal with players who will send their decks back and forth to score as many points as possible on as many accounts as possible? Manually?
Question 9: In many ranked games, if a person does not play the game for two days, he loses his rating (multi-acking). How will this be implemented here for all types of modes?
Question 10: What will be your algorithm for selecting an opponent - all random and how it turns out? Or +- with your rating
In other games, I saw that a large number of wins triggers the system to select players with a high rating, the number of losses triggers the system to select weaker players. It is very important to understand the system of selecting players, who and how will lose points and how much

increase in airdrop rewards

We suffered a reduction of 18k tokens in the airdrop, that's more than 50% of the pool for the airdrop. Ideally, we should reconsider increasing the rewards from 12k to 20k tokens, something fairer that would encourage more players.

Illuvium has an unfortunate history of missed deadlines and delays. Gauntlet recently received the best patch in Illuvium's history, dubbed Patch "A". Since it's launch, we have seen renewed vigor in Gauntlet and a resurgence in the player base. Patch "A" has been widely dubbed a nearly universal success.

My question is this:

Why are we testing patch "B" when patch "A" was quite clearly the right direction?

We haven't seen the distribution of rewards for ranked Gauntlet and leviathan yet, but I heard that it was planned to be about 50/50. I may not be the biggest investor, but I have invested a lot in the project and of course, I want to see the result of my investments someday, like any investor here. And it's strange to me - that we are ready to give away a token intended for an ecosystem tied not to web3, for which all the lands were bought up, thanks to which the token was bought up, thanks to which the open world was created - to give it to a ranked web 2 game, which does not affect the ecosystem in any way. We are ready to deprive investors and landowners again, since these tokens should go to that part of the iluvium that affects web 3.
Many compare it with TFT, Hearthstone - all the prizes that are there in tournaments come from the sold cosmetics and skins. We are not selling anything right now and I understand that sponsoring and supporting the ranked gauntlet is right, it is wrong to do the wrong distribution of web3 token for web 2, which does not participate in the game. Sorry for the background - but my **question **is, what distribution do you want to make for the next seasons between gauntlet ranked and leviathan? And the next how long or in what quantity of web3 token ILV are we willing to spend on web2, until gauntlet tournaments can sponsor themselves through cosmetics?

Perhaps something similar to Dota 2's Compendium, which adds purely cosmetic effects, or maybe a subscription that offers certain bonuses affecting in-game progress. It would be great to hear more about any plans and potential options for this.

Thank you!

#team whats your thoughts on council members crossing over & working with other projects. Two examples, Ani & Lizardlabs & JP being currently on the Star Atlas council & being potentially back on the illuvium council.

Being that Ani CEO of Llizardlabs & with illuvium Beyond I can see this is of mutual benefit to both projects. win/win.

What benefit do you see between a council member working in both Star Atlas at the same time illuvium council. At what point does it become a conflict of interest?

#Development.
Why did I buy skins in other games - because they change visually what the hero himself does and around the hero. I oh damn, it's very cool and I want such a skin. Unfortunately, I don't want to buy such an effect from those skins that I see - I would like to clarify whether we can make skins with animation that could affect the animation of the hero himself and sound effects. For example, Rhamphy, each subsequent tier slightly transforms the effects to the greater side

  • a blaster shot is replaced by fireball shots
  • traces on the ground after the ranger continues to burn
  • the ranger's armor is shrouded in fire
  • a flight in the sky is accompanied by traces of fire, so that everyone thinks that it is not the ranger flying but the phoenix

I understand that such skins take time, but we could release up to 5 of them per month and landowners would try to get them from the land.

When investments of ILV tokens are evaluated (for example, rewards for Illuvium Beyond leaderboards), is the cost (the ILV used for the rewards) compared to the total amount of revenue generated or just the portion that goes to the DAO through the staked treasury tokens? My concern is that, if we are comparing to the total revenue and not just the DAO's portion of the revenue, then the DAO may actually be losing money on that investment. I have heard a few times that a certain investment brought in more revenue than it cost, but it's not clear whether this has been the DAO's portion of the revenue (in which case I would agree that it was a good investment) or the total revenue (in which case it could be a bad investment if the cost to the DAO was more than than the DAO's portion of the generated revenue).

Anyway, just something I have been wondering recently regarding Illuvium's long-term financial viability. Thanks!

#Development what is the one feature to be released in the next 6-12 months that you feel it is the feature that NEEDS to be a great addition to the ecosystem? And why this feature?

what does Kieran has to say about current fuel prices? The team predicted a stage 3 run would cost around $5 and it's currently at $0.60.

(edit: $0.50).
