Hi Rangers,
I wanted to share some feedback regarding the Encounter Scan feature in Illuvium Overworld and suggest a slight modification to enhance its usability and efficiency.
Current Issue
Right now, the Encounter Scan feature is underutilized by players, and here’s why:
- Scanning the Encounter currently reveals which Illuvials are present, but it doesn’t allow us to see the stats of the Illuvials.
- Most players skip scanning because they prioritize engaging with the most rare or highest-tier Illuvial, which they already know will be part of the encounter. Consequently, scanning offers little added value.
- To see the detailed stats of an Illuvial, we need to enter the encounter, which comes with certain inefficiencies:
- If we choose to escape without fighting, we are teleported back to the nearest beacon or obelisk
- Waiting for the encounter to load and then leaving feels like an extra step that could be avoided.
Proposed Solution
I suggest a small but impactful improvement to the Encounter Scan feature:
- Allow players to see the Illuvial stats (health, attack, defense, speed, etc.) directly through the scan before committing to entering the encounter.
Benefits of This Change
- Increased Utility: Scanning would become an essential part of the exploration experience, as players could quickly assess whether or not they want to engage with the Illuvials based on their stats.
- Time Efficiency: Players would avoid wasting time entering and exiting encounters just to check stats, particularly if they find an Illuvial that doesn’t fit their desired battle strategy.
- Better Flow: It would help maintain immersion and game flow, as players wouldn’t be teleported back to beacons or obelisks just for checking Illuvial details.
