Co-op Mode Implementation
Proposal: Allow two players to explore Overworld together.
Objectives:
Promote cooperative gameplay.
Enhance the game experience by sharing missions and farming Illuvials and resources. -
Gas Mechanics
Issue: How would the gas cost be split in co-op mode?
Solution: Charge both players the same amount of gas to maintain balance.
Benefits: Ensures both players are on equal footing when it comes to gas resource consumption. -
Illuvial Quantity
Issue: Would the number of Illuvials on the map be affected?
Solution: Keep the same number of Illuvials, but when encountering one, each player would fight in separate arenas with the same Illuvial, but with different stats.
Example: If both players find a Dark Holo, they would battle it separately in their own arenas. Although not the same Illuvial, it would have different stats for each player. -
Impact on Farming Speed
Issue: Co-op mode could speed up the acquisition of Illuvials.
Cons:
Players might obtain more Illuvials in less time, potentially unbalancing the game.
Solutions:
Increase Difficulty: Toughen the Illuvials’ skin, making them harder to defeat, which would slow down farming.
Fun and Efficiency: Even though farming might be faster, the gameplay experience would improve, making players run more races and use more gas.
Balance: Despite running more races with a partner, they could end up capturing fewer Illuvials as they focus more on team efficiency. -
Resource Gathering (Rocks and Essences)
Issue: How would resource gathering be affected in co-op mode?
Solution: Allow rocks and essences to be harvested twice instead of once, one for each player.
Benefits: Maintains resource balance and ensures both players have equal access to them. -
Encouraging Co-op Mode
Proposal: Co-op mode should provide more benefits than solo play.
Objective: Promote co-op gameplay by making it more fun, engaging, and rewarding, encouraging players to buy more gas and interact in teams.
