HOT TAKE: We should remove Ascendant mode from Illuvium at least for the moment, so we can fully have focus on Gauntlet.

imo, Gauntlet was quite literally created because Ascendant just wasnt it.

Fix the UI in the Arena section and make it more appealing, eccentric, vibrant, rather than just text based/vector.

Season 3 should be fully focused on the competitive side, and with that we should put the focus on 1 competitive game mode, Gauntlet.

If the team for whatever reason still sees any ounce of potential in Ascendant, they can work on it in the back end, and when its ready, they can re-add it back, and for new players it may be seen as a new mode/hype etc.

But for now, we should just remove it and keep focused Gauntlet Ranked, Leviathan and Casual Gauntlet Tournaments/Events.

I agree with this, for now gauntlet seems to attract people more so why not improve the thing that people want? Personally i like gauntlet more, but that doesnt mean ascendant should be left out, just as anon said they can work on ascendant in the back end. 👍

I think it's more work to remove it than just let it be.
Also, the ascendant is a unique mode. If people want autochess, they can play tft, but ascendant is solely on illuvium.
If done properly, ascendant could have more potential than gauntlet.

one lasts ~ 30-45 minutes, one lasts 10 minutes.

Two different game modes and shouldnt mix em imo

If I'm not mistaken ascendant will already see some tweaks with the next patch. Personally, I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I find it more fun than gauntlet.

*Maybe remove some of the queues it has is a more valid option

I feel like people don't like ascendant because they never play ascendant when it's a little balanced at the time you could play 3 top team this really fun

I don't have any figures to compare which mode the players prefer but I remember that we had a lot of players active when the ascending rankings worked. But you may be right, you should check with the illuvium team.

it just doesnt make sense splitting the player base right now especially when ascendant mode just isnt it for now.

The only thing right now that justifies spending so much $ for t5s3 illuvials is Ascendant, removing it will render them useless though
