I often leave my tablet running Illuvium Zero on a plot as I work on my PC. It occurred to me that it would be awesome if ILZ was more "cinematic."
-
Big animations for when a task completes. Maybe there's a burp of green gas floating out of your Crypton Rift when it completes a cycle of harvesting. Maybe the surface of the Hydrogen converter gets bubbly. Other random events could happen when you are more likely to have an Illuvial scan succeed. Maybe the illuvial peeks out of the edges of the map or between some buildings. There could be a dozen little touches that add some flare to the visuals of the game.
-
Regular animations could include trucks working along the path. Hover-truck-things? Or power stations letting off sparks/steam at regular intervals. These would not be nearly as flashy, but could happen every minute or so while none of the splashy ones happen.
-
Then put it all together with a bit of zoom-and-enhance magic. If you have multiple plots, maybe it switches between them to show something big happening on a different map. The focus roams around the map showing your plot in high detail, but just sort of wandering aimlessly for most of the time. Basically, create a passive viewing experience that you can leave running on a separate device or on your main PC while you do something else.

If Aaron's desire to convert ILZ to a 3D game matures, perhaps a slow fly-through could be part of the equation. Show us the development in a drone's eye view as it buzzes around to complete random deliveries or get status updates.
Basically, give me a reason to showcase it on my desk all the time.
