Can we please hurry to make the stats be visible in capture screen?
I lost a 50% health, resistance, atk speed, atk damage, omega power winq because it was another identical winq in the fight. And i only had 720 energy left. So i had to flip a coin.
Thank you 🙂

This has happened to me so many times as well, it's so frustrating...

And for some reason it tends to happen when there's only ergon energy left for 1 capture...

Bumping this as catching stat illuvials will likely be OW focus for the weeks leading up to season 3.

I heard they spawn in the same way they came so keep track of witch illuvials that came r

FYI
illuvials stats are not supposed to be visible before capture

burnt wing

we've had them all this time, they'll kill the game even more if they remove it.

#

me personally, I would stop grinding if they stop showing the illuvial's stats.

can't see other reason why they haven't fixed something so simple if it was not meant to be.

Thanks for telling us about this

I feel like the others towards it, seems bad to not see the stats as its what matters the most and they are so rare that you couldnt catch lower stages just in hope they have good stats

I know it may feel this way because weve been used to it though, i wonder how the experience wouldve have been without that

What do you think about not having stats show?

mighty oyster
#

If that's the case then there should be a consumable that shows the stats (or scan) that is a cheaper value than the base shard

vale vortex
#

If the stats won't show, for me is not efficient to play ow. I think i would come better with just buying from market.
Also the farmers, how is it money wise for them to waste 20 shards, to get one good stat illuvial?

@frank osprey as a free to play, how do you feel about stats not showing? I don't see how it could be sustainable to throw shards at everything 🤷‍♂️

neva too late to change stuff, we are in open BETA 🙂

however, seeing the stats before capture or even before entering an encounter opens up more strategic decision making about what you actually wana do on your run. Is it capture high stats/low stats, mining, harvesting etc.
As soon as it's taken out it gets to more of a brain dead, more grindy feeling fast run. Just shoot what is in front of you and hope for the best.

burnt wing

just give me automated runs if there's no stats visible. No point hunting if it's a blind hunt. I would just capture the highest tiers/stages.

And remove the fuel from ow and give it to the card opening

I can see reasons why the team might not want to show the stats. Since the current meta involves skipping 95% of the Illuvials, the gameplay experience could be more enjoyable if players were forced to capture the Illuvial they wanted the most and only then discover whether they hit the jackpot.

That said, I would prefer Leviathan to be more accessible, not just dominated by a handful of whales with playable decks. If this change happens, there will be even less supply of Illuvials with perfect stats. It seems to me that there is already more supply than demand, even though Leviathan-ranked play is still over a month away.

When discussing this, we also need to try imagining what it's like to be a new player who has never seen stats before capturing an Illuvial. We're heavily biased from having played so long with the ability to see stats upfront.

I feel sorry for free to play players, as this will only make it harder for them to take full advantage of their runs 🥲

I could see this working before they made the change where shards break with failed attempts. If we don't see the stats before capturing, we're spending shards on failed attempts and we end up getting a crappy stat illuvial it feels really bad. This will push players away from the game even more and they'll simply buy from the market what they need.

How would the leviathan be even more accessible?? The illuvials are dirt cheap... And if you want really strong illuvials, stats isn't the only thing that matters. Just go to the OW and grind levels on them. A level 60 illuvial with zero stats is stronger than a full stat level 1 illuvial.

I don't need to imagine, when I started playing I wasn't aware stats were visible by right clicking illuvials while inside the auto-battler. I always went for the highest tiers/stages. Seeing stats completely changed my game style. As I said above, between a good stat atlas or a crap rhamphy I always go for the atlas, and before I would always go for the rhamphy.

I do agree that it might be too late to change it, now that everyone is used to what we currently have. Nobody expects this to change to hiding stats, and it would be a huge blindside hit to the community.

When I talk about Leviathan, I usually refer to the competitive high end, which means all Illuvials with max stats and max levels. Nothing less than perfect decks should be viable if a big competitive scene evolves around Leviathan, which, at the moment, looks like perfect teams with tier 5 etc. costing $10,000.

#

I like Viper's idea where the qualifiers are held in normal Leviathan mode, so it's still achievable to qualify for tournaments with suboptimal decks. Then, at some point, the tournament is played on "god accounts," giving everyone in the finals, for example, the exact same chances of winning in terms of decks.

# urban bronze I do agree that it might be too late to change it, now that everyone is used to ...

yeah that's the thing with perfect stat illuvials. There's very few of them and that's why they're so expensive. I don't think we should expect many players to have perfect teams. But even if someone has all 50% stats vs having all 40% stats it's not that big of a difference. Gameplay strategy still wins in the end of the day. This problem only becomes more exacerbated if everyone is using the same meta teams and facing mirror matches.

let's consider you're a pro illuvium player. Are you down to spend 10k to have the perfect team?

#

what about 1k to have a very good team?

Let’s back up one step. We ultimately want Pro and Semi-Pro Esports players to enter the ecosystem because they see the big prize pools and believe they can compete more successfully than in their Web2 counterparts. The marketing value, as seen with examples like Parallel, is immense.

A structure where players in the grand finals have fewer chances than others due to their decks is a no-go for competitive players. This would mean that everyone in the finals would either need to be sponsored by an organization or be a whale, which sounds like we are drastically limiting our competitive scene. Specially in the early phases until Esport Orgs enter the space.

burnt wing
#

but that's just the tip of the iceberg. You have to qualify to get there, you have leaderboards with rewards with emphasis on the leviathan mode. We're not just talking about the end-game esports tournaments.

Just a reminder that for level 60 illuvials, a 10% difference in stats is just 7% for attack speed and 5% for other stats. It is an advantage but augments, comp (hypers) and illuvials placement still are a huge part of leviathan.

Maybe the stats will change with combat. I don't think you can see the stats before battling an illuvial

To compare to Pokemon, you cannot see the IVs of the pokemon you are trying to catch generally. (IDK if they changed that in the newest games).

But you can manipulate stat quality through things like breeding, and later on SOS battle chaining.

Generally I think being able to preview it now is a bit easy, and it would be great if there were mechanics to manipulate stat rarity besides previewing before capture IMO.

Everything would be fixed if the difference wasn’t that big.

With this system 95% of Illuvials are unusable.

Just make bonuses a lot smaller, like 1% 2% and so on. You still get advantage but it’s not an obvious pay to win anymore.

# crude belfry Everything would be fixed if the difference wasn’t that big. With this system ...

I agree with you and it makes a lot of sense to minimize the impact of bonuses to a smaller range (maybe not as low as 1%>2%, but definitely not 10%>20%) for the sake of a better and more balanced gameplay experience.

For reference, Infernal Drake in league of legends only gives attack and ability buffs in 3% increments. It's not so high that it's game breaking, but it can drastically affect the outcome of a fight if utilized well.

# crude belfry What burn mechanic?

This wasnt fully relevent to this post, so did not want to jump down that rabbit hole and lose focus - more a comment towards the 95% of illuviaos being unusable due to stats

However, just to state quickly, nothing is solidified yet around "burn mechanics" but there are many posts/feedback circulating around this subject.

I believe ICC is going to try and refocus/funnel all of them into one thread

# olive frigate neva too late to change stuff, we are in open BETA 🙂 however, seeing the stats...

my attempt concerning seeing stats would be to make the encounter scanning feature valuable again, as it is not any longer since the costs for entering an encounter were removed (which is fine).

but entering encounters, screening stats and leaving takes like 80% of my entire overworld play time, which wouldnt annoy me, if there was no 10seconds loading screen each single time.

so why not make the scanning feature directly reveal the stats of the illuvials that can be captured, this way players can decide to enter and have a look, or decide to pay some energy and (in most cases) move on to the next encounter, saving loads of time.

and ofc the first named issue also has to be resolved asap: we need to be able to see the stats also on capture screen, plz

That's assuming demand stays the same. I think you'd have far less people risking a $3 shard or even $0.50 shard catching potentially a bunch of crap stat illuvials. I think it's just going to kill motivation to catch high stat illuvials. High stats are already quite rare based on my experience, it's fun entering and leaving dud arena instances, lengthens the hunt and makes the payoff feel better when you finally find a battle worth fighting to try and capture something good.
