#“co op story mode in overworld” shouldnt be a separate game mode

In Kierans recent interview with Steffanina, he mentioned that the team is working on a new story mode where you go through the overworld battling npcs and learning the game lore. it will be free and you can play it co op with a friend. why is this being built as a separate game mode? I dont think MORE game modes is the solution to illuviums problems, instead the games it already launched need to be improved. A pokemon like system I think makes much more sense here where all the lore and npcs and battling is integrated directly into the overworld we already have. co op and lore can be directly integrated and there already is a free version of overworld too. if they want it to be entirely free so everyone can experience the story line then just integrate it into the free version of overworld, dont create a new game mode. I dont want illuvium to be spread too thin working on more game modes that we dont need right now when the game modes we have arent up to par. I also think the community should be more involved in this discussion instead of them building it without our approval.

Did they specify how the new game mode would be incorporated into OW? I can't imagine they'd make a decision to create a completely new game mode at this point.

How would you want to incorporate the story gameplay into OW?

I just find it amazing how the team is working on something that the IMC has no clue about it.

Kieran also said 35% of the OW game was F2P cause that's the percentage of T0's we have. Such cope... What matters isn't the % of F2P assets but rather the gameplay experience.
Why not try to improve the current F2P experience instead of doing a completely different mode... The current one is so bad...

I can see it working if it were an MMO style where we add some "town" hubs built into the maps we already have, with smaller dungeons to explore and get sent to for questing. It would give more utility to the maps in OW for sure. Plus, we could then dedicate specific story-lines to each region to give them some significance other than just to look pretty.

They could also just change the teleporter to be the central point for the town hub and differentiate the hubs by region... For example, brightland steppes' town hub would be very basic since it's the first region, and could be characterized by the ship's crew trying to create a forward base camp.

Yadda yadda yadda, we just need to copy the basic recipe for the MMO genre and that should be easy enough to work from.

i just cant believe they want to make another game mode, when making too many game modes is literally what got them into the conundrum of making non fun games in the first place
