#GFP-XX Enable Beyond Disk Fragments in Overworld

Simple Summary
This proposal seeks to introduce Beyond D1sk fragments as collectible items within the Overworld (OW). Players will gather fragments during paid OW runs, which can be combined to forge a Standard or Mega D1sk. This feature aims to enhance interoperability between Beyond and Overworld while providing an additional incentive for players to engage with the Overworld.

Rationale
Integrating D1sk fragments into OW enhances the gameplay experience while establishing a seamless connection between Beyond and OW. Players will gain additional value from each OW run, potentially boosting both engagement and fuel consumption. From a marketing standpoint, this approach promotes Beyond organically through gameplay, allowing players to discover it naturally without the need for direct advertising. This should help increase the supply of Beyond Illuvitars in line with Illuvium’s growing player base, ensuring the rarity of previous waves is preserved. By keeping this feature exclusive to paid runs, it ensures alignment with the in-game economy and further incentivizes fuel purchases. Using a stage system for the fragment caches introduced in the IIP below is in line with the project’s stage system and provides a minor luck-based aspect to the cache mechanic.

Absolutely love it. From a personal perspective I have trouble grinding the overworld day in and day out like many here, I enjoy buying stuff on the Illuvidex.

But when I do play I feel somewhat aimless especially when u find 3 Ace in a row and there's no tracking mechanic of any sorts.

But mechanics like this that enhance the nuance of exploration in the overworld would greatly help my engagement with it so I think this is solid even though my biggest takeaway is the potential opportunities for other things like it. Fuel Fragments, Rare Stat reroll meteors, Huge plants that contain bundles of consumables. The possibilities are endless to further populate the world and encourage exploration.

Yes, yes, YES! And I hope this is the first of a lot of rewards improvement for gameplay, we should also have missions or specific hunts that rewards with plants, essences, minerals, etc... meaning, everything that is not an Illuvial should be possible to receive as a reward.

The proposal has reached 40+ thumbs up!

We will push this to Github after adding two items after discussions with the Sponsor @novel talon:

  1. Alpha d1sks should not be part of the proposal. Fragments won't be used to get those.

  2. Added both deliberations to either save up fragments unspecific to a wave, or specific to waves and whether they can be found in the recesses between waves. (This last point may only be necessary for the upcoming waves and not after Set 2 starts)

Note that the team will have the final say in feature implementation, so this just specifies a vision that they can implement in any way they can.

2 things I that needs to be discussed:

1.) is the fragments being tradable(NFTs). I think there is a network/IMX reason they decided to integrate ingots. Having 100s of ore/fragment NFTs might hurt costs, speed or something else.

2.) It will inherently lower the value of all other assets(unless the cost of runs increase to offset it) this is something I think labs will have to consider when introducing these.

Otherwise, i like the idea of further connecting our games curious to see the implementation and how they could effect the economy.

I will add to 1.) that if fragments are not tradable then I would rather not have them be specific to each wave but instead a generic NFT usable anytime to forge a d1sk from the latest set/wave.
