I propose to introduce an airdrop for rank in Gauntlet.
Only 100 prize places.

100 ILV for first place, 99 ILV for second place, 98 for third... 1 ILV for the hundredth place
The entire budget for the reward will be 5050 ILV. The amount of this airdrop is almost 6 times less than the total airdrop budget for September, but it can bring much more interest to the game and fuel purchases than a milestone.

Advantages:

  1. 100 ILV, at the moment, cost about 4 thousand dollars.
Such an objection motivates to invest in your own gaming deck an amount close to 4 thousand dollars or even more. If the airdrop is repeated from season to season, then it will be even more expensive to assemble an expensive deck of illuvials for battles.

  2. The most active players from the first and second seasons, who bought the most fuel, were the most active in the game and were able to get the best illuvials, will have the greatest chance of getting into the top 100. This state of affairs will create the impression of the need to play for a long time to achieve the best results or will become a significant motivation to stay in the project.

  3. The developers have repeatedly stated that there is currently an insufficient number of illuvials. This airdrop can solve the problem of the small number of mined illuvials.

  4. Such an airdrop motivates to keep high-stat illuvials for yourself to get into the top 100, as well as buy or sell at a significant price. And the high price of illuvials will increase the value and fuel consumption.

  5. In parallel with the purchase and capture of high-stat illuivils, there will be an active pumping of the illuivils' experience to increase the chances of winning the gauntlet and disappearing into the highest places of the top 100. For which, it will also be necessary to buy fuel.

  6. Such an airdrop will significantly increase the desire of other players, who are still little familiar with the project, to learn more about the project and invest in it.

Why 100 places?

  1. Not everyone wants to play competitive modes and many prefer to earn money in Overworld.

  2. This will make it much easier and simpler to check players for multi-accounting and cheating. Instead of checking several thousand accounts, it will be enough to check a hundred.

  3. This will create competition among players. It will give an understanding of the importance of investments and the need to use all your game resources to achieve victories.

Some rules:

  1. Daily battles.
To avoid situations when an account from the top 100 has stopped logging into the game to maintain its place, it is recommended to introduce an automatic decrease in the position in the TOP of players, in the absence of battles for a day.

  2. One account per person.
This will also partially solve the problem of multi-accounting. At the moment, there are a sufficient number of players who have several accounts to which they send high-status illuvials to occupy several places in the top.
Of course, this will only work with careful checks of players from the top 100 and the implementation of punishment for playing on several accounts within 24 hours.

This canvas can still be supplemented, but I have run out of imagination. I ask you to help improve and implement this concept.

As far as I know once leaderboards are introduced in gauntlet either milestones/quests and/or rewards will be introduced.

I don't think that we need to rewards 100 ILV for 1st then 99 for 2nd...

Rather 100 ILV for 1st 90 ILV for second 75 for 3rd and then you reward brackets between 4-10 11-25 26-50 51-100

It will motivate people the same way for less rewards distributed I think

I'm for adding a raffle for those in the 101-200 bracket, 201-500, 501-100 as well

depends on how we want to allocate the 30K ilv
for example 15k for arena, 15k for missions/milestones

#

or 20:10

#

we do have to take into account the likely number of arena players. arena is niche.
the current number of daily paying OW players is 750.
30K divided evenly over 750 paying players is 40 ilv/paying player.
let's assume the airdrop is split 50:50. Then we take the number of incentivized arena leaderboard players pre-launch of 200 players.
15K ilv divided by 200 is 75 ilv/arena player.
while OW is down to 20 ilv/paying players.
there are some cross-players and possibly they can profit from supplying illuvials to arena players

It is enough to pay out the airdrop for September to make people interested in continuing to play.
A prize pool like 5050 for the top 100 players, which I propose to introduce, will make people interested in investing their airdrop for September and testnet in buying illuvials and buying fuel.
The 100-player limit will create competitive rivalry among players of both Arena and Overworld.
You don't even have to pay anything for Overworld, just 5050 ILV for a whole month of excitement will be enough.

I believe that with such a reward model, it is psychologically much easier for a person to perceive the probability of getting into the top 80 players than into the top 1. And when a person can already feel a proper reward for their efforts from the top 80, and investments from 2k dollars seem easily recouped, then this model can bring good results in the sale of the same fuel and increase income from the commission from the sale of NFT.

@reef musk Hi. The proposal is really interesting, but I think it would be better to slightly redistribute the rewards among the TOP 100. For example, lower the reward for 1st place and increase it for 100th place, as @sonic imp suggested above.

As for penalties for transferring Illuvials: punishing blockchain transactions might not be entirely appropriate. Maybe it could be implemented a bit more complex? For example, after transferring an NFT with an Illuvial, it could receive a temporary block on being used in ranked modes for a certain number of days or hours. However, even this idea seems a bit rough.

Overall, I like your idea, and I also like @sonic imp suggestions for adjusting the rewards. But the system that would hinder the transfer of Illuvials to other accounts needs further development. This system should not infringe on players' freedom of action but still make multi-accounting more difficult.
