One reason tournaments are not an ideal option for distributing ILV Prize pool is that they often concentrate rewards to a small group of top-performing players, which can lead to an imbalance in the community. The same top players consistently win, which can create discouragement among the majority of the player base who feel they have little chance of ever earning a significant reward.

By using a ranking system, such as bronze to diamond, you can distribute the money more broadly across a larger player base. This incentivizes more players at all skill levels, giving them a sense of progression and achievement while allowing more people to benefit. It also fosters a healthier, more engaged community because players are motivated to improve their rank and feel more included in the rewards system, rather than feeling left out by an elite few. This broader distribution of rewards leads to more satisfied players, encourages participation, and prevents stagnation at the top tiers.

This can be a monthly distributions or weekly like how Gods unchained Rank system works. Players also do not feel obligated to Schedule their week around set Tournament dates.

I wish we knew more details around that, if it's just around the corner.

Prioritizing tournaments before leaderboard is not a good idea. Leaderboard incentives and seasons are what's building your competitive playerbase. Focusing on tournaments with 500 active arena players will not do much yet, besides distribute most of the rewards within 50-100 people.

Leaderboard rank rewards shouldn't be on a weekly basis either in my opinion. That caters too much to the p2e narrative, when we are not that. It should be done at least in 3-6 month seasons where the rewards are the final goal, but the journey there matters just as much. That's how we build and retain a strong community. Any significant tournament should be at least 6 months into the future, and we can have smaller ones in between. But the main goal for the next 6-12 months or even after that should be the leaderboard incentives and competition, cause that's what's gonna drive the growth most. Doing massive tournaments and rewards for that currently is just rushing things and repeating the airdrop mistake again.

i agree that we should start with smaller prize pool then increase with adoption

#

meanwhile we will have more time to improve arena and wait for the market to recover

This sounds like a cry to not support those who put time in and got good at the game. Pretty selfish imo.

i disagree, i believe people who grind, put time / money in the game, excel/expand their skill, should benefit the most.

look at Fortnite, the biggest events/tourneys with millions of players, still didnt have bronze rewards… you had to quailfy for top 2 divisions in order to have a chance at any prize pools

#

imagine doing bronze rewards/tourneys lol ppl will smurf so hard its not even funny

We are in a really uncharted waters here...and one direction can be the wrong one. Cutting off tournaments and go full leaderboard rewards can be an option yes..but is it the right one? dunno. Time will tell.

at least with ascendant, people need to own multiple teams to smurf effectively. unless the person keep sending nfts over tho their smurf accounts

And btw the guild tournaments rewards were switched to fuel crates, not ILV, to boost the so called "game loop" economy.

Where did you read the rewards will start in bronze? As far as I know nothing has been leaked regarding that.

Monetary rewards for leaderboards should start from plat, or gold at the utmost lowest. Anything under can be just cosmetics.

Also you should think of what's best for the dao and not individually. I'm not saying leaderboards over tournies to kick start the competitive scene is 100% better for acquiring more players, but I strongly believe so. You can still do tournies, just no need to go gunz blazing from the get go. Snowball it
