Ensuring Fair Rewards for Beyond Players

Pending Rewards: The paused leaderboard rewards promised for the top 100 Beyond players have not been distributed yet.

Unfair Competition: if pending rewards comes with wave 3, Players are unfairly competing for the previously pending rewards.

Snapshot: Take a snapshot of the top 100 Beyond players before Wave 3 begins for pending rewards.

Fair Distribution: Ensure that the pending rewards are distributed to the players who earned them during the previous period.

I'm conflicted. I would benefit from this proposal, but the increased competition of extra leaderboards at the start of wave 3 would benefit the project as a whole. 🤷

That benefit mainly comes from the existing top 100 players and it wouldn't help in bring new players into it. It will be just top 100 players are being dragged into forcefully compete mode to get their already earned rewards.

Trust is a big part of investing. Most view beyond as an investment. If the team did this, it would further erode trust and probably turn even more people towards exiting the ecosystem instead of investing more..

The only problem with this, is someone like @onyx bronze or myself ( even though im not competing on leaderboard) still havent transferred everything over. So this requires 2ndary wallet support to be ready to do this. Not saying it wont be. But I guess what your proposing is:

1. Secondary Wallets are live
2. X amount of time for current users to secure their leaderboards spots by sleeving necessary items
3. Snapshot before wave 3
4. Pay those rewards for the pending rewards? 1st place gets X weeks worth of rewards? X being the number of weeks we paused
5. Wave 3 starts normally - no 2x 3x or 4x rewards for time paused

It's completely OK to wait until secondary wallet support arrives and confirm that no issues for beyond players to transfer assets or any issues related to LB. I am totally agreeing here with all points you make @rare root . I would assume that practically paying in one shot for all pending rewards would be the only solution feasible considering that secondary wallet support not yet arrived and wave 3 is being planned in early October

for clarity I'm 👎 this because regardless of me wanting the missing rewards from the leaderboard, I don't see why Beyond players should feel entitled to any sort of reward when Beyond has been paused for almost a year and rewards kept going until last month.

I think it will be way better for the project overall to launch the rewards with wave 3 in order to increase the competitive aspect of Beyond.

There should probably be an IIP or overall guideline detailing how leaderboard rewards will be handed out moving forward.

If the team intends to make all 200 illuvitars for Set 2, and have three expressions each, i could see a delay take place after wave 5 . Having a guideline for future delays could resolve this debate going forward.

Also, if there is a partner for wave 4 or 5 and they want to wait 2 months for a certain product to come out to boost marketing, the DAO should have rules to adhere to.

I.e. the leaderboards rewards pause one month after the final wave because volume may have dried up.

In the future they intend to always have an ongoing set/wave be available for purchase. But in the meantime, we may benefit from clearcut rules in the interims.
