One Main question and I think one key for the future success of Illuvium is in my opinion the social aspect. Can you tell us a bit about what is coming down the road in that case?

not sure about if there is the info somewhere. the season2 will stay like this or will be updated when your tool works ?

solid perch

It will be updated.

  1. Thanks for the announcement and level of details Mr. CTO. I do not envy your job in the coming months. We do not always need such a detailed essay, but I do appreciate it.

  2. One of the bigger twists in Season 1 had to do with Illuvium Zero, Land Owners, and Fuel Production. Do you have any timelines for when fuel transfer may be active from Zero to Overworld? Is there anything to say about the design and/or redesign of this mechanism now that we've seen it in action from both buyers and sellers? There seem to be many threads in "feedback" about this very thing ... so, surely it is on your radar. 🙂

Thank you @worn torrent for the article with all explanations. Could you please implement a good announcement for patch notes? Put everything like "changed from X to Y"? Yes, I'm such a nerd and I know last time was done for some stuffs, just asking to keep going in that way. Also good luck as a Illuvium CTO.

Have you thought about switching to a "Mint on Demand" kind of architecture ?

Instead of minting each and every asset automatically, just make AWS/IlluviDex the main storage of assets and whenever someone wants to trade, a "Mint" button needs to be clicked.

This Mint button would mint to IMX for now, but later on we could add a "Mint to new chain" button.

Stuart we need to be able to walk around sanctum mesa with a single illluvial by our side

# slender gulch Have you thought about switching to a "Mint on Demand" kind of architecture ? ...

It does seem like this would solve some of the bottleneck. One reason I didn't understand how bots were creating an issue was kind of explained in the blog post: A "forge bot" could buy cheap things from the marketplace and sell the cured versions ... and that's a pretty simplistic bot. However, the "burn" of the old resources has to be accomplished before "minting" the new, and this creates an extra bottleneck on IMX. Hence, if only the "cured" versions were minted, that would cut back on some of the issues.

It seems like they are going forward with a sort of hybrid approach between database and blockchain to reduce IMX bottlenecks.

# worn torrent The bottleneck only happened for some collections because of the spam in a short...

Good to hear. I think we should see blockchain in a gaming context as what it is: A public database for valuable assets that facilitates trading and proof of ownership.

Minting is almost like posting a sale on Amazon or Ebay or saving valuable assets on cloud storage for backup. Since we have no interoperability with other games or apps outside of our ecosystem I don't see any other reason for me to mint an Illuvium asset.

I think IMX is a dead end and I hope we don't make the IlluviDex more and more dependent on IMX: https://discord.com/channels/760344898200666112/1280065921830096956

A mint on demand could facilitate a slow, on demand, move to a new chain instead of a complete switch.

No question from me, but I do just want to say this is the kind of communication we really need. So a huge thank you for this.

@worn torrent are finish numbers correct and final now or still going to change

Hey @worn torrent you talked about 'An architectural change' improving development speed in the future. Could you elaborate on this in more detail? What exactly is being changed and why is it a benefit?

Appreciate you taking the time to communicate that with us and for making it understandable and easy to read.

@worn torrent Appreciate the time you spent on writing that blog post, I think this is the kind of communication that alleviates a lot of fear/doubt within the community, thanks!

Now that the minting issue seems to be tackled, would you mind elaborating on the state of the illuvidex? It has been broken for months in several ways (sold items clogging the feed, some filters not working correctly, the same items listed multiple times, various other issues).

Do you know what is causing these issues? Do you know how this will be fixed (or does it still need troubleshooting)? Do you have a timeline for the fix?

Echoing the sentiment here, that was a good read Stuart! Thanks for going in depth and explaining certain aspects we had not considered to the issues we encountered.

Looking forward to more of these whenever the team encounters a (nother) major hurdle Atlas_Love

In season 2 there will be leaderboard for arena/gauntlet? If yes, will there be rewards for it? Congrats on CTO role

# merry mist <@699312113482727537> Appreciate the time you spent on writing that blog post, I...

Our current priority with Illuvidex is to make some of the onboarding payment flows easier to use so that once people do make the conscious decision to put some money in, it gets to us easily with minimal amounts of loss through bridging/gas fess etc. The first phase of that is nearly complete and we hope to release in the coming weeks.

As for the performance and crashes of the site, we're going to be setting performance targets for the team to meet and reviewing the deployment processes to ensure that we meet the expectations of the community 🙂 We'll be going through measure => set targets => implementation => review cycles to bring performance down to reasonable levels

@worn torrent when can we expect the new missions to be implemented and will they affect the current progress on weekly missions (is it a massive change that will completly rebrand the current missions ?)

Just wondering if we will also get fuel bonus when using SILV2 or it is gonna stay this way?

Is the team looking at "order book" for Marketplace? Especially for things like ingots, shards, and other "non-unique" items? Clicking things to buy, then having it fail to purchase is a big headache.

Adding a "saved searches" tab here would be great, too. Lately, I find myself buying T4 shards a lot as they are tough to just "grind out" in OW.

@solid perch for those who completed weekly or daily missions on 1 of September and didn't get the points or the points were added to Season 1 after the snapshot, even Season 2 had started already, we'll get those points right? It was some kind of limbo between S1 and S2 when the points for daily/weekly missions should be added to S2 (it was september already)

frail viper

so for the S2 airdrop there will only be daily/weekly missions?

Season 1 milestones points count for season 1. If you completed milestones in S2 points should be removed once all the points start showing correctly.

# solid perch Season 1 milestones points count for season 1. If you completed milestones in S2...

I'm talking about daily/weekly missions completed on 1 of September. They were supposed to count as Season 2 since Season 2 started on 01/Sep right?

But for some reason I have no idea the points went to Season 1, even the Season 1 was finished already and the snapshot had been taken already. Sounds like a bug to me, but wanted to double check. It makes no sense IMO complete daily/weekly missions in September after S2 started and the system adds points to S1 after the snapshot

This is all being fixed though, hopefully this week based on the looks of things
