Hello, Illuvium community!

I want to talk to you about Overword and what it truly means for us right now. There are two crucial points we should all consider:

Building Your Team: This is a fundamental part of the game, but once you’ve built your team, the need to keep creating new ones diminishes.

Selling Illuvials: At the moment, selling the Illuvials you capture is impossible, which limits our monetization options.

This leads us to an important question: Is Overword worth it?

The answer is yes. Although it might seem limited now, the game offers depth beyond its current issues. Even if everyone has their team set up, there’s always a need to improve stats. This can only be achieved by capturing higher-quality Illuvials. As more players join, this will become easier, though achieving perfect stats or getting a Holo or Dark Holo might require around 100 runs, which isn’t easy.

However, the main goal of a game is to have fun, and Illuvium excels at keeping us entertained. I appreciate the effort to make the game enjoyable and meaningful, but I also hope that Overword evolves to make even more sense and offer greater value to all of us.

Now, I’d love to hear your thoughts: Does Overword make sense to you right now?

Looking forward to reading your opinions and continuing this adventure with all of you!

Cheers, players!

It is a bad mentality to focus on overworld only as a farming game.
It is an rpg game, and if they implement combat and companions, the purpose of ow will be to battle with your illuvials, as a stand-alone game

I don't think it's worth it currently. As someone invested in this project, I MIGHT have wanted to spend time farming and building up a team for the future prospects of what Illuvium will become but I haven't really cared about it too much. Reason being that the web2 player in me still needs a stronger reason and tie to what the point of building a team is for. If I was in it to try and make a buck, maybe I would have farmed more but that's not what I'm here for.

Having said that, the team has made it clear that our current OW game state was just to test basic gameplay loops and the content for OW hasn't really been released yet so we'll see.
