#Airdrop amount in fuel crates

@errant brook made a good point on this idea during his stream. We could make the fuel crates account bound.
Yeah, I agree that it would be great for people to take their rewards and start playing with them right away. However, many would likely use this opportunity to sell off their fuel crates to extract value. So, I think it would be a good idea to keep the current vesting system but add an option to claim non-tradeable, account-bound fuel crates that can be used to start playing immediately.
When I tell people that they can actually get paid runs via airdrop points from F2P, but they have to wait three months, it feels bad and unintuitive.
I like the idea but how will land owners feel? Perhaps the DAO can compensate landowners some how since if people are getting fuel there is no need to buy from land owners.
The dao will use unvested ilv to buy the fuel from the land owners
The fuel bought will be sold as non nft fuel crates
(You get fuel for how much ilv you give up)
Beat me to it @random fern haha
you should add it to the original idea incase people dont read the thread to find this info

I dont know about the whole buying from the land owners, in terms of general complexity. But I like the idea of an early claim meaning players can essentially play the game easier for Season 2
Yeah, if it helps convert even a few f2p into paid players with the fuel crates I think it's worth it.
just some notes:
- landowners still yet to receive their 2nd fuel crate airdrop
- fuel sales revenue is an important matrix of the project.
- the fuel crate airdrop and this account bound fuel crate will forego fuel revenue
- the dao using unvested ILV to buy landowners' fuel would mean the DAO is selling ILV token, theres an optic to be considered here
i dident know we were getting two fuel crates
In some interview or townhall there was maybe even a mention of "we might do 2 more fuel crate drops" but I guess no-one is accountable ever for anything that is said or written? Not sure why we have IIPs if we ignore them all the time?
Back to the topic:
I'm not really sure how this would work. Illuvium sells ILV? Buys fuel? Wraps it up as crate? Now part of that money goes back to RevDis?
What we are basically doing is the same thing anybody can do, but just making it easier for the player to claim ILV and sell it?
What if somebody wants to stop vesting and get fuel crates after a month?
Seems like a lot of work just for making it easier to get fuel? Something we need to develop (spend money on) and after 6 months (when airdrop is finished) we done with it?
This idea wouldn't forego fuel revenue, that's the reason the fuel is getting bought. Now on the backend the ILV could be swapped to ETH from revdis account to buy the fuel or team could just simply swap ILV for fuel, it's up to them for implementation. Main idea is to get fuel, valued at the full airdrop amount, into the hands of the players to do paid activites now instead of 3 months from now and just be exit liquidity.
Idk bout doing anything anybody can do and claiming ILV to sell it. The idea is to make it so u can't be able to sell it. If someone wanted to stop vesting and claim the fuel after a month, great, they still get the full amount in fuel 2 months earlier and able to participate in the paid aspects of the game.
What I meant by "anybody can do" is that you can claim ILV, sell it and buy fuel right away. This idea (as far as I understand it) would just make that process easier.
ahh i see. we still need to sell ILV to buy eth to buy fuel from the landowners. as for the other 95% of fuel needed can either be using the fuel exchange (sell ILV, buy eth then buy fuel that the dao printed itself) or direct swap ILV to fuel).
