I think a game mode similar to ascendant or leviathan but with real money used and winner/ top 3 or 4 get paid would give this game a much needed boost as a crypto game.
Basically you would have a game mode where there is an entry cost of fuel. There can be different levels of entry so a beginner/intermediate/advanced entry where beginner is 100 fuel and advanced is 1000 fuel for example. When played the winner in a 1v1 or the top 3 or 4 players in an 8 player mode get their fuel back plus a bonus based on their placement. Illuvium takes a straight cut of the total equal to some preset amount like 10% and the rest is paid out to the winner(s). This would incentivize people to play overworld and fuse or pay for the best stat illuvials to win matches and gain fuel which could then be sold for money.
I am thinking of magic arena as a basis where there are free to play options and daily's to play and get free draft entries and/or you can pay to play and if you win you get back your entry plus some, except in this case you can actually access the winnings instead of it being locked in game. I think this could draw a large player base if priced well and could also be a fun way to incentivize people to play and fuse in overworld as well as play the game modes and create competitive comps leading to the ability to find game balance over time and give players who are good at the game a way to earn by skill. I think we need some earning capability tied to the fun parts of the game not just the grind side. By using fuel it will also increase the fuel need/use case and help landowners who fronted a large amount of money into the game and, from what I can see in the comments, are largely disappointed/frustrated with the current outputs and return. Not going to be too negative on that point but in a crypto game the returns on land or assets should be higher than what you can get in a bank account or there is 0 incentive. We need monetary incentive to play and get new players.
