Bring back the Pokédex vibes!

I'm speaking for myself, but I think a lot of gamers can relate to this.

Gamers usually appreciate having some similarities between games, as it gives them a sense of familiarity and helps them know what to expect.

I've recently heard we're using the name 'Repository' or 'Illuviary' for our Illuvials 'Pokédex.' I think this is terrible branding. The name, for obvious reasons, should be 'Illuvidex'.

As for our Illuvials marketplace, currently named 'Illuvidex,' we should just call it what it is: 'Marketplace'. It's not even decentralized, so using the 'dex' suffix is a bit misleading.

I actually really like the idea of just calling it 'marketplace' hahaha.

Unfortunately I believe Illuvium was using 'Illuvidex' as a catch all term. Like the Repository would be a component of the Illuvidex. The fuel exchange is a component of the Illuvidex and so on

But I am down to change it, definitely better changing it now than in 6 months honestly

I thought this was just an added bonus for the overall concept of the project and considered it to be a minor tweak, so no major changes are necessary. I think most of our user base enjoys the nostalgia, and the effect of incorporating it into the game would be a positive addition.

I would add a collectible effect to Illuvials that are rarer than others, which could be easily implemented as achievements, similar to those in WoW.

Just to clarify my ideas: incorporating achievements as a final touch for rare Illuvials would create a more engaging and rewarding experience overall and could be fused with the Illuvidex concept of a collectible experience.

Agreed, I think the main reason not to change the "illuvidex" to "marketplace" and use "illuvidex" for the pokedex is to avoid confusion with current players, but it's open beta and everything should be subject to change if it means making things simple, clear, more appealing, and more marketable. I think this is a quick, simple, and well needed change, especially for down the road when we start trying to onboard web2 players. "Repository" feels disgusting to use, and illuviary doesn't pack a punch.

If we don't have time to build a companion app for illuvium we should let others tender to build it.

We should have pokedex,leveling with some kind of either move based xp or tamogotchi type stuff.

This is a non issue. It’s just called the illuvidex.

The IlluviDex is the marketplace and info centre.

I don’t get this idea that we’re branding these things. “Repository” is an internal name for “where we show all the info”

My understanding was that the illuvidex was everything related to trading. Marketplace, fuel exchange, etc. That's why I wasn't seeing the repository even fit in there.

for example, the illuvipro team has made the 'ProDex'. Illuvidex is what would make sense for Illuvium, not 'Repository'. But I get your point that is under the umbrella of the Illuvidex...

Think of it like a Pokédex that also lets you buy and sell.
