kieran said the feature is in, just not displaying
I know Feature is in and it is displaying... but not solved the best Way to "sell" the customers a Discount imo
Just remove the top rail. No longer required.
i actually dont get why we are using "discount"
and not just displaying market price with chart maybe like a normal exchange, and use buy order instead of just filling the sell orders
i understand that it might be designed to "appeal" web2, but lets be honest the experience hasnt been web2 at all
the reason was because of possible market fluctiations.
If you might remember back then, many were afraid from massive fluctuations, and people might feel rugged buying fuel today and tomorrow its way cheaper.
So the solution was to signalize the consumers that they buy on discount, sometimes more discount sometimes less diiscount, but still discount.
Therefore easing the "bad" sentiment to not have bought fuel on alltime low over and over again. Basically simple human psycologie.
thats one thing i disagree with that IIP. its very condescending imo
and its annoying when u just want to buy a spesific number of runs, u gotta calculate the "discount" too
this is so true... Simple free market wouldn't work would it? No... We had to make fancy rules to show non-existent bonus based on a non consensual top-rail price.
@mossy swift maybe we could do an ICCP to remove the rail-guard and this bonus "discount"
I think everyone's fears have been dissipated by now
i disagree with removing the top rail, but i agree with changing the "discount" system to "market price" system
I thought we were gonna get this with an order book and everything for each fuel type where prices would differentiate. The current system makes no sense to me.
no bottom rail tho
right now buyers are only filling the ask orders
i wonder if silv2 gonna be a bid order or just filling the lowest ask order
I saw someone post a screenshot getting "bonus" fuel. So, is that basically like they placed an order above the current best ask and ended up filling all the orders below the current displayed price? It's currently a very weird system if that's the case.
but if that is the case, I would imagine the prices across hyperion, solon, and crypton wouldn't be the same since the demand for each is surely different.
i assume buyers are just filling the orders from the bottom ask, and the "bonus" is just the difference between the ask orders they filled with the top rail
until the eth amount to buy is exhausted
yea their market price should be different from each other due to varying demand and supply
It's definitely different per Fuel type. Look like solon is the least in demand right now (or the most produced, could be either)
So, the displayed price is the top rail? But why does it fluctuate?
Market prices fluctuating makes sense, but I thought the rails were a set price
another issue with ask order system, i think u need to "deposit" the eth/weth amount first. because the FEX gonna need to execute those orders without your tx sign.
otherwise u gonna see stuck bid order when buyer used the eth for something else and the FEX cant execute due to lack of fund
I'm guessing the listed price is an average of some period of time (the 0.0063 ea) across Fuels, because they all have the same value. Then when the order is actually filled, it pulls from the cheapest sell orders and counts that as "bonus fuel". Or something like that.
Would need the team to confirm exactly how it's working though.
Hopefully an orderbook comes soon rather than later.
And a way for people to purchase fuel with a credit card like if a user wanted to purchase bitcoin with a credit card, they could do that on an exchange, albeit, the fees would be higher, but it's much more convenient for web 2 gamers.
Yeah we are sorting all this out.
A few people on much needed leave and then they will tackle this and many other things to improve the flow.
thanks aaron
aaron, something rather urgent is silv2 buying at the top rail while the discount is 50% with eth
This is also being worked on, but as I'm sure you can understand this could be exploited easily if not done in a robust way.
yes landowners can create spoof sell order, then buy lots of fuel using silv2, then cancel the spoof
i guess its better to use silv2 in place of fuel instead of buying fuel?
i reckon even if u use bot u cant forge that many shards before real buyers buy the spoof order
i guess they missed to deactivate silv2 purchases.
Remember talking with you about it few weeks ago.
Was always communicated it acting like a giftcard, instead of eth/fuel:
also the official homepage says:
yup
was really surprised they changed it
