The effort put into and the quality of the trailer and Overworld (OW) experience is amazing, but as a new user, having to go through 30 minutes of cinematic plus the OW intro is a significant barrier.
Most of us here, including myself, are Illuvium maxis who love the ecosystem loop and play all three games, so it's fine for us. However, the people we want to bring in are TFT and TCG web2 players.
Our game is Arena; the OW is the pack opening. We can't make a TFT player go through an OW tutorial when they open the game. We have to make it as easy as possible for people to come and play Arena straight away. A percentage of our player base will be interested in having assets to compete in the competitive modes of Arena &/or having skins to show off. Those will be the ones interested in opening loot boxes in the OW.
We have to sell the game before the pack opening, not the other way around.
I get that at launch it was fun to have the cinematic, but I think we should remove this from in-game and only put the OW tutorial when you click on OW.
