I am unhappy about not being able to play my land plots from my wallet.

Same goes for Illuvitars, I should be able to keep them in my cold wallet and be able to fill the album.

I get that we want to make this easy to onboard but the security of my assets are more at risk transferring them from cold storage to this Passport account, yet that is the only way I can use them as intended.

I hope that the ability to self-custody on a cold wallet is something that the team is working on giving back to us. I am very uncomfortable about this current system. Not your keys, not your coins.

I am sorry to be complaining the day before launch. I hope you all know that I do appreciate the hard work you have put in and the game itself is looking incredible, which is why my assets are so important to me.

ETA: Since writing this I have been told that Kieran said it would be about 2 weeks for cold wallets to be functional. That isn't that long to wait to play for those of us who are moreconcerned with security.

Totally agree with @faint verge . I am often jumping to defend the team when someone fuds/attacks them but this is a big fckup from the imx/illuvium team (whoever is responsible for not getting this done in time for launch).

Never once was this possibility mentioned earlier, Kieran always said in ama's that we will have the option to attach a wallet to the passport and it can read what's on it.

Now 1 day before launch, out of the blue, you are forcing us to move our landplots to a wallet with only an email password protection. So even if this function gets ready in 1-2 weeks, it's already too late because we can't transfer them back without losing our builders.

We now have the choice between not playing our plots (we have invested in 3 years ago) during the first weeks and missing out on income during the busiest period
OR
moving them to a less secure wallet where we have to keep them in order to not lose the builders we pay for
OR
not using builders and fall behind others, meaning loss of income again...

actually this is true, if you are connected directly from passport.immutable.com you can link a wallet. And If imx can read-only and still use zkevm asset then everything should be safe. But if it's work, you must moove your land anyway from cold storage to cold storage basicly.

It looks like it may depend how you do it. If you just transfer to a new wallet you lose BPs etc, like dandepeched lnked.

However, there is a link wallet feature on IMX. It looks like maybe that will end up being functional and then we wouldn't lose anything

I always had the impression that this exact feature is gonna be used when passport first came out. I loved the idea that you can use passport to log in easily and just have a read only access to your cold wallet with assets. Without that option I am not going to start with zero unfortunately

Yeah, that was how I thought we would start too which is why I was disappointed and wrote this feedback. I'm glad to hear it is coming but do wish we could have had it from the get go.

I think ledger had some users impacted by exploits in blind signing, which is why they're moving to clear-signing - but it would seem they haven't communicated blind-signing deprecation in the most recent update, if that's what's happened. Check with the ledger discord.

Ledger has decided to "protect" their users. Personally, I think crypto should be about deciding things for yourself not having a hardware wallet decide what is best for you.

Well, they can also now restore our seedphrases if they are lost which makes me wonder how they do that too. They are getting a little too helpful imo.

It should restore to the version it came with I think. Then you could put in the seedphrase and connect your Ledger to MM, use MM to get your stuff sent to IMX.

I think you just need to avoid their Ledger suite (whatever they call it) as much as possible.

So what I would need to do is setting them up with the same seed phrase my current ledger has, then simply not update them and trying to get on them somehow the ETH apk which is any version prior to 1.11.0 - the question I'm asking myself is, does Ledger Live allow me that without updating my firmware and if so does it get me a version prior to the mentioned above one.

I think they do I think they just tell you there is an update and you can ignore it but there is only one way to know for sure. Try it out and hopefully it works. 🤞

It has been so long since I set up a Ledger but I am pretty sure you don't need internet. You can have the same seedphrase on multiple ledgers. I'm almost 100% sure on that....

The words are all what I need, with the private key you need password as well. But he seed words should be sufficent I guess.

The seed phrase restores access to all private keys on the Ledger.
If you set up your Ledger with a Passphrase (a word you chose) you will need to know that too.

Yeah it was a "funny" surprise for me as well today as I wasn't able to "activate" -> "Blind Sigining" / make sure you aren't updating your ETH apk, everything with 1.11.0 and beyond will not support blind signing anymore - only "clear signing".

Good. Fuel is expensive, it won't come down in price until land is producing and many won't put land on Passport. We need this feature fast.

I put on a couple of my lower tiers so I could play a bit, but not all and not my city. I'm producing no fuel right now.
