I was thinking of a new game mode we could have.
I was listening to polemos' interview with Kieran and he mentioned something about not needing to build a deck to go in and play.

i used to play a lot of hearthstone when it first came out and i enjoyed the "arena" game mode a lot. you still "build" a deck, but out of random cards you many not yet have, and compete against other players, the more wins you have, the better your rewards at the end of the run. (each run ends when you get 12 wins or 3 losses).

I thought this would be a cool idea, sort of a mini gamble everytime since it's with real money, perhaps in the form of fuel or coins or something.
and of course, there would be different categories. like 1 dollar/ 5 dollars/ 10 dollars to enter.

Sounds interesting, basically a draft game mode with a buy in, in which you "rent" Illuvials to play with and after a specific amount of loses, you get rewards depending on the amount of wins.

I´d assume the rewards side would have to be something like X% of the buy in is used to buy Illuvials of the marketplace as prices or Fuel, maybe combinations of both.

The main worry on adding more game modes would be the splitting of playerbase while Illuvium-Arena doesn´t have a high playercount.

Another point would be the timeline of an idea like this, how much dev time it would take and if it would slow down overall improvements on the current Arena Game Modes like Ascendant, Gauntlet, Leviathan versions of these.

You could introduce this buy in for rewards system to survival-arena as well I believe, maybe even a draft version of Survival (PvE) instead of a PvP-Draft.

I guess i didn't think about the time devs would need to spend on this. my assumption was that once these game modes are out and running, simple rebalancing would be sufficient to maintain these. and writing up a new and exciting style of game play shouldn't take too much ressource since the backbone is the same.

Plus, all modes right now don't provide a gambling aspect. and although small amounts of buy in may seem irrelevant, i think it'll add up. If illuvium takes 10% of all the fees collected, it could be significant.
PvE is never as fun as PvP, doing something similar for survival mode wouldn't create the same amount of excitement i think.
