#Illuvium Zero got a lot worse with the latest patch

Just downloaded Zero from the Epic launcher (PC) and I must say that I think it got a little worse compared to the alpha builds.

  • Fullscreen windowed and full screen aren't working with my 2560x1440 screen; it just looks pixelated and it's not possible to choose the proper resolution. All over it looks worse now but since I can't set the proper resolution, it's hard to tell whether it's just the resolution that makes it look worse or if it's something else.

  • When I click on a resource to build an extractor on it, I want the extractor built on the resource I clicked. It's just confusing that I have to move it into place when I choose to build it this way.

  • I really don't like having to go into the acticivity menu to complete claiming/harvesting plants and such.
I'm also confused about the claiming of resources; when I played yesterday I didn't see any indication of progress but now when I just logged in, there was a circle with progress bar inside it that I could click to claim resources, which was nice. After claiming and then starting to extract resources again, there are no such circles and the only way I can see progress and claim resources is by entering the activity menu. I'm guessing this is a bug?

I liked it the way it was. I do like the extended options to see stage, efficiency, path bonus etc though.

PS. The title for this post was a bit exaggerated, I don't think it's A LOT worse, just a little. I still like the game.

I agree that my first impressions also were not good. I think the art/appearance is much better but the refinement is missing, and some changes seem to be for change sake rather than improvement. But I am willing to give it a chance to see if it grows on me

I do not understand why we had to reinvent the wheel once again so shortly before the main net launch. Why could this not wait, leave the good things from the alpha in Illuvium Zero, and add what was requested instead of revamping half of what comes with lots of bugs as well!

Sounds like you're running into some bugs that you've hopefully reported. You should be able to always see the circle/progress bar and collect from the map for extractions and conversions.

Agree with your second bullet, and something I had also reported. I think it's fairly minor though and can be cleaned up after release.

First bullet I'm not sure as primarily playing on phone where it's much better because you can zoom out now. I have seen it on PC though and looks huge for my son, haven't played with the settings yet though to see how flexible this is.

Overall I think there are some nice new changes, but they do have a lot of bugs to work out still and I'm hopeful these are mostly minor changes that needed to be put off to get the main features playable and out to us. It would sure be nice if they published a list of known issues!

# jovial wren i guess it's playing behaviour then. Like usually i have no filters activated. I...

No, I turn them on and off as needed. It just feels like an unnecessary step to have to turn off all filters to be able to see progress, and this is feedback to the team so that they can hopefully make the game better.
I did file a feedback report ingame requesting a simple toggle to toggle on and off all of the checked filters at once, which imo would make it smoother. This could be in the form of a key, button or mouseclick.

I agree with this as in alpha I always left them on, which is especially needed while playing many plots.

Not a big deal to turn them on/off quickly for a single plot as it's less often needed even, but if this is the intended way to use them the game should just be smarter and not require us to turn them on/off. e.g. if I build a power station show efficiency, if I move a power station show power, if I move a converter show efficiency, etc.

I would still like to be able to see building levels more often and have that hold between switching plots though so I can quickly see what needs to be upgraded, but also collect finished activities.
