#Weapons changes feel limiting

Just want to get others opinions on the weapons changes. I really liked the ranger intearaction with illuvials before and bonding felt like a truly Illuvium only mechanic that was fun and interesting. With the new changes to weapons I find that the creativity of the game feels much less and the types often don't match what you want for synergies. I much preferred bonding to an illuvial and having that creative option as to now.

I would propose either going back to the bonding like it was before or having way more weapons and choices that can match whatever team you are trying to create. Curious to see others take on this as I haven't seen anything yet related to this change.

Yeah, not a fan of having to use a fire staff to get mystic... Haven't seen another option. Perhaps just have to wait for more weapons to come out that will fill in the gaps?

I miss bonding.

I agree it feels limiting right now. Bonding is a complicated feature for new players though, i like the idea of having set weapons

I hope we will get more

Bonding is complicated but less boring to me than reading through endless weapon descriptions. I do understand that it also makes it easier for the team to do balancing without it. I am not saying it was the wrong move to take bonding out but I do really miss it and agree with the OP that it made the game feel more interesting.

All that said, I am not the target audience for Arena anyway and it would be a waste if the team listened to my opinion on this. Better they listen to the people who will actually play the game. I would much rather run around OW capturing Illuvials🙂

I liked the bonding system, since it gave you the option of playing the game pretty much as you wanted.
With the new limited weapons, I feel more like I'm being forced into a cookie-cutter selection of teams.
I get that it makes it easier for the team to balance, but I feel like it takes out way too much of the fun and leaves very little open to creativity.

I miss bonding too

bond gave creative, i dont think was overcomplicated, the game shouldnt be at all the easiest, bonding illuvials was an art -.-

I feel bonding was superior and more fun to play too. Not sure what the idea behind the rework is.

I guess to create more crafting demand for different builds, but there are better ways to do it.

Bonding was cool

Armour needs a rework aswell. I find myself reading through lines and lines of text each armour at a time to figure out what it does every single game. There is not much intuitivity to it

This needs more thumbs up. Everything is SO limited right now

The mechanics of "bonding" the ranger and illuvial were too complex for beginners. I'm glad it was removed from the game.
But I completely agree with the second part of your suggestion - increasing the variety of weapons will have a positive impact on the game.

Perhaps if the armor gave the synergy from one side, and the weapon did the other side? I dunno the actual terms, but having to be fire for mystic I am not a fan of.

#

Like, what if the staff gave me mystic, and the armor gave me verdant?

The team limit of 8 illuvials is a huge step backwards in the variety department as well. Not a fan.

There will be hundreds of weapon on mainnet, dont worry. Bonding is fun, but the new weapon system add a lot more variation to the game mechanic.

I dunno, I think it would be cooler like that, instead of being pigeonholed into just a weapon. And, a reason to make both a weapon and armor. 🙂
