Proposal: To address exploitation of the current points-based reporting rewards system via multiple accounts, we propose transitioning to a ranking-based system where rewards are allocated based on relative performance rather than points accumulation. This approach ensures fairness, transparency, and discourages fraudulent practices, promoting genuine user engagement and quality contributions. The implementation will involve defining clear ranking criteria, piloting the system with user feedback, and gradually rolling it out to enhance platform integrity and user satisfaction.
#Point system reward can be exploited

Can you explain how a ranking based distribution would discourage multi accounting?
Agreed.
I just saw a mod saying this:
"The intent of milestones is to discourage this by getting multipliers. We can’t block or stop multiple accounts without something like KYC so we trying to mitigate the need or want for people to do so."
I agree with what he says 100%. but sadly, the way multipliers are being applied right now is not helping with this situation at all.
10% or 20% multiplier is simply not worth it compared with the amount of points that someone can get by simply creating multiple accounts and farming the easy forge milestones repeatedly.
I just finished getting the 5% multiplier from the holo quest. it took me around 70 hours to complete it. If I manage to finish this season with 6 million points then this multiplier will give me 300k extra points. a multi acc exploiter will make at least 5 million points if he spends 70 hours doing forge milestones on multiple accounts.
multipliers should be WAY more effective if their purpose is to decentivize multi account farming. AT LEAST 10 times more effective. anything less is just an incentive for multi acc exploiters. other than that, rewards based on ranking would also fix the problem.
I think there are some tools that would avoid multi account practice:
- Better multipliers, which benefits accounts with more points.
- Increasing rewards of hard missions, which encourge the interest of doing those missions.
- Increasing spawn rates, which decrease the difficulty of hard missions.
I want to say two things.

Preseason 1 worked in that way. If this preseason is based on points is because they wanted to do something different.

What exploits are you talking about? Do you refer to multi account practice? Men, if you invest 12-16 hours in the game you can do the most of missions in 1 week. The airdrop has 3 weeks of duration. What do you do then in the next two weeks?
Furthermore, there are missions that spend so many time for rewards they give, so if you want to obtain the most amount possible of points, you have to optimize your efforts.
The current system is a big step in the right direction. It can surely be better optimised and the team will hopefully do that based on this season's data.
But the purpose of this test is to optimise game features for the live game, not to optimise this particular airdrop that only lasts 20 days. For example, spawn rates are adjusted to ensure the longevity of the game and the economy, not to optimise airdrop missions.
When the big airdrop comes with the live game, some of the current exploits go out the window when you can't just do unlimited runs for free.
Nerfing materials again is the only way to counter multiaccounts. Make the ores hard to gain so everyone can finish one account only imo.
i agreed and to stop having multiple accounts , I recommend having KYC security
yea i suggested KYC multiple times and gave example of big time and shrapnel
I agree. It will be even easier if you transfer resources from your main account to your subaccount to complete the missions.
If you had the materials for crafting, it won't be worth to craft in other account. Basically, for crafting anything you need lithium and rubivium. You mine until you have all armors and suits. If you don't need to craft anymore, why are you going to mine and accumulate that ores?
In conclusion, doesn't make sense to pass materials from one account to another, and having two accounts for that, doesn't make sense neither.
I think you're kind of missing the point in this matter. Once you have completed all the forging milestones, you can do it all again for double the points on a second account if you are insane enough. 🙂
What's the problem?
If you have the time
- 1
the problem is if top 10 got 4m points each but multi account got 20m total points whahahaa
is it worth doing weapon or better to repeat the suits on an alt account?
but is ok cause we are in testnet its good advertisement for the illuvium for the mainet cause if the player get more airdrop they will post it in social media
suit is easy than weapon
thx g
I completely agree with you.
Growing from 0 points to 3 million points is very easy.
Growing from 3 million points to 6 million points is an extremely difficult task.
With the current system, multi-account owners benefit, not the dedicated players.
Rewards should correspond to the TOP ranks, not just be tied to points.
lmaoooo
Is it okay to move these to a subaccount and complete the missions?
What's the problem? It is a person that had invested very much time
Barely with 607 Rubivium you would do armors in one account xD. Besides, the time you spend farming in one account is the same you will spend in another. There is no advantage in farming.
Two dedicated players are going to spend the same amount of time. The difference: one optimize more his time than the other.
What would be an exploit? Getting 1M in 40th wave survival mission and do the same in 50 accounts. That is an exploit. Playing overworld in several accounts, I don't see it unfair.
Up
yeap so your doing Multi account bro? whahaa so defensive
? I'm just arguing behind your alleged unfair practice
There is a company called Zkpass. They have made a system that uses Zero Proof knowledge to verify your identity so KYC isn't needed.
It prevents sibble attacks and even provides the avenue for one vote one human.
If anyone has a thorough understanding of the tech I would be happy to share the information with you to check if it's viable.
I understand the broad concept yet don't have the knowledge to critically evaluate it.
A friend and colleague of mine works for the company and has shared with me all the details.
It could be something or it could not be something.
Anyone willing to find out?
I'm up voting because I believe the discussions in the thread are worth looking at and perhaps continuing.
I wouldn't say it's unfair, as everyone can multi account if they want to.
I do suggest it has an equity issue though.
There is almost no resources on the market, and multi accounting could be contributing to that. If you have no excess there is little to sell.
So for people who are time poor yet maybe able to obtain a lot of seploa ETH, to counter their lack of time to input could have a significantly smaller chance to complete the milestones.
Then include those who don't farm sepola ETH and use the daily allowance, it could be even worse?
I'll check it out, beats filtering through all this discord mess with the same questions over and over...
Cool, I'll send it pm.
but they told me that is ALWAYS a scam! :p
Lol yeah. You ping me. 😅
dammit, i always forget to not hit the reply button
the idea is to limit multi accounts.
if u use onchain activity, u still can bot it.
zksync airdrop was heavily botted even tho they claimed to have a sybil prevention system.
i think KYC is still the best so far, unless u take it further and do retina scans like wld
Retina scan and blood sample sounds legit
I drove through regina once.... no scans, but still... super flat and boring landscape, wouldn't recommend
Probably should be free blood samples for those parts though, and the folk who randomly drive through
Okay, that's not very good. Thanks for letting me know.
regina....
Don't know what you are talking about
@silent sun is zksync the same people I referred?
Pretty much, yes.
so it used zksync. got it
dnt know, there are many zk projects out there
right, it looks like they are connected with multiple zk chains.
where is the unfair practice? i think multi account is the unfair practice
so you mean that your pro multi account not anti multi account?
If the top 1000 get 90-95% of the rewards, maybe we can solve this problem by verifying the identity of up to the top 1000.
I think that much can be done manually.
I know that will stop some people from playing, but those people will definitely leave when the airdrop is over.
There is the issue of how to manage personal information.
It would be nice if we could partner with CEX to verify our identity, but doesn't IMX Passport have such a function?
I dont know if IMX could do it. Heres a post about KYC #1261163483739717683 message
Please understand that even with KYC, there is no 100% prevention of cheating.
If you live in a country where it's easy to get someone else's ID, it's impossible to prevent that from happening. hahaha🤣
I don't know how much it would cost.
If you can watch all players play with a 10 minute delay, it will no longer be possible to cheat using software.
The nice thing about this is that a beginner can watch an advanced player play.
However, multiple accounts cannot be prevented.
I just hope IZ won't cheat again.
yea KYC wont give us 100%
people can make palau id too
whos LZ?
KYC is very easy to cheat, companies ask your name, age etc. usually for marketing purposes, or similar.
Very few games ask for "hard" to cheat things and even those get cheated anyways.
you can "counter" multiple accounts by adjusting points and multiplyer e.g.
ru familiar with the kyc process?
There are multiple different levels you can do.
All of them going up to needing social security numbers are getting cheated in web2.
can use the 3d liveness
