#More information about the Intention behind the drop rates change

Having 20-30 aces and luras on crimson is not even entertaining tbh, gets boring very fast. I am getting annoyed by another, another and another ace over and over again. Before the update the drop rates were maybe a bit too high, but now they are def. too low. Something in the middle so it doesnt get boring too fast maybe. Also no info in the patch notes, would be nice to know if it was intentional and why.

The holo and dark holo rates should stay low for sure maybe even lower, still seeing lura holos all the time, but not finding any t1 s3 or t2s3 in 30 or 40 runs is frustrating

Absolutely agree with this.

Perhaps it is only crimson wastes? But it is really bad, and overly noticeable

is it a problem with drop rates or lack of illuvial diversity?

I would argue this is what is supposed to happen. You go to crimson waste, you predominantly get earth and fire illuvials.
You go to abyssal basin you get tons of water.

Probably the main issue here is illuvial diversity. But, there is no way to change that. We have 206 illuvials, of which 99 are T1/3/4/5 and thereby 33 stage 1s. Divide that over all affinities, 6.6 per affinity, then you naturally will only get 13 unique illuvials if the region features 2 affinities like crimson waste.

Then if the stage 2/3 is not featured to push players to fuse, and a stage 3 run boosts your T3/4/5 illuvials over T1/T2, then you will probably see those top few illuvials most of the time.

How do we change this? Either boost stage 2/3 which removes the need for fusing. Increase the diversity of Illuvials (We all know how the team will enjoy that LOL). Or maybe reduce the amount of encounters. Say if you get 8 encounters, you see 3 ace, 2 flare, 2 phyri and 1 rhamphy maybe. But that results in an empty region.

So; i dont know if there is a fix for this. But the current situation is on purpose.

Garf is right, to give some context from our side, I personally believe the following are the main drivers for less diversity

  1. We tightened higher stages significantly to push for fusing alongside XP buffs, more indirect gains to XP in the pipeline, soon TM
  2. We tightened affinity weights within a region to push for region identity after community feedback: "weird to see (so many) Atlas in CW", but this comes at the cost of diversity within the region

20-30 Aces out of 150 capturable illuvials is in sync with what I would expect in CW Stage 3
CW probably has it the worst out of the 3 since we have only 2 T3 lines that are fire/earth and CW is heavily attuned to those affinities, if you feel ABB and BRS are fine that is valuable information

Currently the feeling I personally have is that we went a tad overboard on the affinity tightening (I feel it was def too loose before, somewhere in the middle but where exactly), but we are awaiting feedback on both points, so thank you for this post, I am reading a lot of the feedback given

That actually makes more sense I think I get it now

I agree with this, game became boring after update. Expensive trip to stage 3, expensive encounter cost, the same t1/t3s1 illuvials running over stage 3 and frustrating daily missions. It's not game of fun anymore, it's game of paying eth for grind. I'm not going to play it until this is changed.

before this patch, people could complete the collection within a few days.
im guessing the team wants to slow things down
